Hello all,
I am developing a site for a Trophy company. They need to be able to
change the price of the product based on the number of characters to
be engraved to the trophy. Is there a shopping cart out there that is
flexible enough to let me do this?

Thanks

MIVA Merchant has a few module that allows billing based on the number of
characters. MIVA Merchant is a basic cart and you buy the specific modules
you need to customize your cart.

For a list of tons of modules, go to:

Good luck,
Dave

Dansie has all these features Plus more and more.
It's free with some hosts, like Simple Solutions(sshost.com), and you
don't need any modules.
Otherwise it's around $200.

After doing some investigation about Dansie, I've found out that (at
one point in time) it put a backdoor on your server which would allow
him, or anyone else who knew the password, to run scripts on your
webserver. I don't know if this is still the case, but I'd be
inclined NOT to use Dansie based on this.

This issue is very old, some 3-4 years ago and it was solved then very
quickly.
If you search newsgroups on Google with this subject, you'll see the
dates.
Or you can check the original website of Dansie, which is Dansie.net.
All the history of upgrades and problems solutions are right there.
