Just to give you plenty of notice, last day of exams at Durham is June
2nd, so that should be the tradition annual purge date. Usual plan...
Kingsgate, food, "other pub" I suspect.

Also, any of the grandfathers (or are you, by now, great grandfathers)
of durge know when the first annual purge happened. There is some
possibility this may be the 10th annual purge.

Its probably a little more than that, I went to one and it was already
established by then.

The feeling on #durge is that the first purge was 1996 (early May, it is
thought), so that makes this the 11th annual purge, but the 10th
anniversary of the first one.

I believe this is the 10th annivesary of the original purge, ie the 11th.

IIRC, the first purge was just after the end of exams, a day before Grey
Day, in 1996. I think that puts it late May or early June. If it helps,
I think that it was a Friday night, in the New Inn.

The day before Grey Day? Think of the hangovers after that lot! Can't
have been pretty!

I don't think I had much of a hangover. Was still reasonably drunk when I
woke up in the morning. Then started drinking again. Yay for Grey Day ;)

Stuart.
