Except Crapaldi isn't worth paying $1.19 to see ... plus to that $119
you've got to add obscene inner-city parking prices or an over-priced
bus ticket (at least one each way) with lots of waiting around for
buses and walking long distances between the stops / venue / home.

Preaching to the converted, Your Name.

Last night I shouted myself and one of my sisters to see Stephen Fry
speak for two hours or so! Tickets $59.00 each .... uncomfortable,
squeezie seats in the theatre, dinner $60, parking $12, and trying to
find somewhere to park!!!!.

Just as well the talk was reasonably interesting!!

Sounds like one of those credit card adverts ...

Tickets $59 each
Uncomfortable, squeezie seats in the theatre,
Dinner $60
Parking $12, and trying to find somewhere to park!!!!

Staying at home relaxing ... priceless.

You can always watch Stephen Fry on TV in the Qi quiz show while
waiting for the inevitable "Stephen Fry Live" DVD to be released ...
plus you don't have to put up with the annoying idiots coughing
continuously, using their mobile phones, etc.

The Warehouse is currently running a competition to win a special
screening of the new Star Wars movie "for you and 30 mates" ... if I
was to win that, I'd just go all by myself to have a nice quiet cinema
and actually watch the movie (get them to turn the volume down a bit as
well!!). :-)

Stephen Fry did make a point of the first couple of people who were late
in, about 5mins and 10mins late.

But you can just about bet that other media organisations are also
running similar competitions, so you will not be on your own!!

And the talkative person will still be just behind you!!

Nope. The Warehouse competition is for a *private* screening for "you
and 30 mates" .. so if I choose not to take any "mates", it'll be a
private screening just for me *alone*. :-) Only problem is that you
have to buy some Star Wars merchandise to enter, and there's nothing I
want to buy.

Farmers is running another competition, but that involves going to
Sydney to see the premiere screening there, which means there will be a
load of noisy idiots in the cinema.

Sky TV is going one better with their competition, by flying the winner
to London for the premiere screening there and meeting some of the
cast, but again you will have a load of noisy idiots in the cinema too.
