Ace had been wandering the TARDIS corridors searching for the Doctor. She
finally found him in a room that she was sure had been the library
yesterday, and she had a feeling had probably been some sort of bio-lab
the previous week. She watched what he was doing for a while before
interrupting.
"New toy, Professor?" she asked. The Doctor scowled.
"It's hardly a toy," he retorted. "This device is the product of two
decades of advancement in technology since your time. The representation
of three-dimensional space it produces is the sort of thing 1980s
computer scientists could only dream of. And this motion-sensitive
control device is *beyond* their dreams."
"Yeah," said Ace. "But it's still Super Mario, isn't it?"

Dave
So I looked, and behold, a pale horse.
And the name of him who sat on it was Death.
And the name of the horse was Binky.
Very funny. :-D Mind you, I've been wondering for much too long now
about whether it shouldn't have been a different Doctor (Six & Mel
maybe?) It always seems to be Ace thinking technology is cool and
Seven messing it up... Or maybe it's about time I watched some Seven
again! ;-)
I went for Seventh and Ace partly because I needed a companion from the
days of the original Nintendo Entertainment System (Mel is from just
prior, which would have meant finding a Wii game with a predecessor on
the Commodore 64) and partly because I was amused by the idea of the
Grandmaster of Chess on a Thousand Boards spending his free time throwing
Koopa shells at Goombas.
And I think Ace likes video games, she's just as amused as I am by the
*Doctor* playing them.
I kind of guessed that, so it was mean of me to say it! Mind you,
wouldn't *any* of Doctor made some wonderful (disastrous) modification
to it? The Seventh Doctor in particular couldn't seem to help
himself. ;-)
But, hey, I enjoyed it. And spent too much time thinking about it, so
that's not bad!!!
