I am in a curch or catehdral of some kind. It is highly decorated, with
red carpet and gold decor. The seats are of nice pinewood. The whole
place has a feeling of some importance. As I walk in I am looking for
somewhere to sit. Often I find a seat, but then decide I'd be bettor off
sitting elsewhere. Usually this has to do with the people I am with, eg.
sometimes I go in to the 'church' with my family but decide I want to sit
with some friends instead. Sometiems I go in with work colleagues,
sometimes with other people.

The other night I had this dream and everyone was wearing black.

What can this mean?

Any thoughts - let me know!!!
Thanks.

The location of church indicates that the dream is about your spiritual
abilities / gifts. The gold decor indicates that you have a spiritual
healing ability. Gold (the colour of the sun) is symbolic of being able to
channel / project energy (like the sun) through your hands into another
person. The people, including family, who appear in dreams are significant.
Ask yourself what traits the people have in real life. Anyone with a
predominantly negative trait is saying that you have picked this trait up to
some degree and it limits your development with regard to spiritual healing.
Anyone positive indicates potential you have to be like them. Eg. someone
who is outgoing, etc. can appear in a dream to tell you to adopt their
attitudes / talents.

Black has no redeeming features in a dream. (Look up
www.avcweb.com/colour-meaning.htm for a full list of colours plus some
colour combinations.) Its keyword is 'fear' but can also indicate other
things such as hatred, resentment, guilt. Most likely it indicates that you
would be afraid to do something like spiritual healing because of the
reactions you would get from family and others.

Red is an energising colour and indicates passion / fun. This is linked to
the spiritual healing ability. If you move in the direction of spiritual
healing you will get / give 'red carpet' treatment. The feeling of some
importance is because it really is imprtant for you to develop yourself in
this direction.

It is worth pointing out that you have only given the 'trends' of your
recent dreams. It is very important to give a complete dream from start to
finish as this will have all the symbols connnected in a specific way which
makes the interpretation more accurate. I hope you find this useful anyway.

Church/Cathedral: This may mean that you need to acknowledge a higher power.

Carpet: Represents grounding, protection and insulation; or some type of
luxury that is enjoyed.

Red: Represents energy

Gold: Represent divine conscienceness and Christ Light.

Pinewood: Next to the redwood, pinewood is the highest conductor of energy.

>The other night I had this dream and everyone was wearing black.

Black: Represents unconscienceness and unknown.

People: Represent the different aspects/parts of yourself.

Happy Dreaming =)

Michael -

I would disagree on this point in this case...people wearing black in church
is, imo, a direct reference to funerals, that this dream seems to be
spiritually oriented suggests to me that a symbolic funeral regarding Owen's
spirituality and/or spiritual beliefs is taking place. Death, as you know,
is often a symbol of transformation. This dream suggests to me that this
transformation of spiritual ideas/awareness involves letting go of people
and/or aspects of self which hinder this process (deciding he'd be better
off sitting elsewhere) and gravitating toward those which help.

Hi,

I agree with Michael. Anything in a dream can represent many things depending
on how it relates to the rest of the dream and the dreamers reations.

Somethings black may represent are:
wisdom, lack of information,
death, emptiness, nonexistance,
mysterious, unknown,
lack of energy, absorbing energy,
vastness, and others.

Hi Dirk!

I'm not sure if I understand...Michael's interpretation was very thorough
except, in my opinion, on the point regarding black...he had said that:
>>Black has no redeeming features in a dream.<< (>><< indicates snip)

and I felt that the black clothing was significant...it seems you do, too.
I feel just as you do and most others here that only the dreamer can truly
know the dreamer's symbol system.
