Does the ammount of "color" in a dream depend on the ability to
remember it, or?

Cause most of my dreams are black and white (grey.... ) not very
bright, and when something is actually in red or some other color,
then it's because something is emphasized (if prophetic dream etc)

I remember lucid dreams where everything was in faint pastel
colors. Very beautiful, I enjoyed this. Partly, it was like in a
black and white movie that's been given some colors by hand later.

I rarely dream in b&w, but my color LD is often as you describe, with
sections of the landscape in bright or pastel or otherwise out of place color
schemes, like a cut and paste collage, ala "Waking Life" except with more
variety in texture.

I remember one LD, I was in a street in maybe early 19th century.
There were old style cars driving up and down and large walls of
houses to the left and right, people walking by. It was a great
scene, and all covered with these pastel colors. I can hardly
remember something that impressive from real life.

I noticed this thread along with a couple threads talking about movies
and I have this idea (have had it for some time):
I wonder if black and white versus color might be related to movie
viewing. I know my B&W dreams seemed definitely related to my movie
habits at the time. I wonder if perhaps more B&W dreams occurred with
the advent of B&W movie technology and if more color dreams occurred
with the advent of color TV. Anyone else share this reality or is it
just me? I am NOT saying that movies are the sum total cause of B&W
versus color, but I am saying that it has a definite influence in my
mind.

Hail Okie, of mortals most renowned, the looked for that cometh
unawares, the longed for that cometh beyond hope!

I think it's just you :) Interesting theory but it's wrong cause
then before color movies, almost everyone would have dreams B&W.
Also, Im 19yr old, so I dont watch many B&W movies..
