Does anyone know why the slide was removed from the tree house, it has
been gone for many many months, I thought it was going through rehab,
But now I am not so sure. My kids loved it. I was wondering if someone
got hurt on it.

That's a really good question! For the last several years, every time I
have been there, it has been non-operational. Either the acorns were in,
but no-one was allowed to go in, or else the acorns had been totally
removed from the pit, and the place was shut down.

And now the slide is gone?

What's the scoop with this, anyway?

Chip and Dales Tree slide was taken out because too many of the guest
were sliding two or more at a time and the result was broken bones and
bloody noses. Disney tried placing a cast member there, but once
again, the guest did not listen to the cast member and went down 2 or
more at a time anyways. So Disney took the slide out. It is the same
reason why the slide in Donalds Boat was taken out
The Acron crawl is not open on slow days (10 to 6 operation). On
nights the park is open late, the acorns are only open till 9pm. Also
if for some reason, a kid pees in the acorn or blood is spilt, the
acorns are closed and cleaned. That may be why they are never open.

I used to work in Toon Town. Although I never worked there when there
was
a slide (when I hired in the reehouse was under rehab) I was informed
by several different sources that the major reason for the removal of
the
slide was, in fact, that the children basically wouldn't listen to the
CM and would slide down when the last child was still getting off.

In most of the Disneyland Today guides, it does inform guests that
the acorns are only open seasonally anyway. Frankly, I think the
acorn pit is far more dangerous than any slide. I can't count
how many kids were jumped on or had their head slammed by some
kid that was running around the rim at full sprint.

I had to throw one kid who was approximately 8 or 9 out of there
once because he wouldn't stop running all around. He had been
in for about ten minutes (It was early morning on a weekday so
the crowds were light) despite my repeated warnings. I had already
seen one poor child nearly get seriously hurt when a bigger kid
kneed him in the head. Finally I had to yank him out, so he
started crying his eyes out. I felt no sympathy, and, very
fortunately for me, neither did his mother who had been there the
whole time and knew exactly what had been going on.

Needless to say, I don't miss working that attraction one bit.

I don't know anything about the slide in the tree house, since I am way
too tall to even be let near the thing, but here is my guess: Was the
slide metal? If it was, maybe some kid went down it, got a little burn on
his legs or someplace, and his parents sued DL for a million gizillion
dollars, so they took it out? That is my guess. Anybody else got an
idea?

Thanks Everyone, I figuered it was something like that. They could have
put a little arm gate that raises to allow th child to slide down once a
sensor has detected that the previous child got off the bottom. or the
CM could control the door with a button that only opens it after the
slide is clear. I always went with my kids up there and would not let
them go until the bottom was free.
Oh well, Toon Town does need a little Tooning-Up.

Same kind of thing happened on Donald's boat. There was a slide, but now
it is completely gone. Probably too many kids climbing up the slide while
others were coming down. You guys must remember going to the park?
