Does anyone know why the Sleeping Beauty walk through was closed? I assumed
it was still open until recently. Is it under rerub? I don't know why but
I always loved that lame, out dated attraction.

It is on the list of refurbs at www.disneyland.com and has been for a while.

I think it was found on one of Al Qada's lists, so it was closed for safety
reasons.

Official word from Disney is (paraphrased) 'security matters based on
SBC being a security risk being a potential terrorist target'.

I believe the Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthru closed in early October
2001, just a few weeks after 9/11. :/

That is correct. It is one of my wife's favorite attractions and she mourns its loss
(but is forever hopeful).

Me too. the Dragon had become mighty pathetic the last couple years
though. They didn't wanna fix it's 'basic' moving neck and placed (what
looked like) a LAME crayon drawing of a Dragon over the window. Really
bad. I especially miss the Maleficent scenes and the middle/highest
point of the walkthru .. with the AWESOME air conditioning with the
flickering lights casting weird shadows on the walls, with the very
special "Once Upon a Dream" song playing in a loop. That was once my
all time favorite romantic place in all of Disneyland. Nothing
intimate... just a very special (and sometimes private for a little)
place to slow dance. ;)

I wish the walkthru was stll open .. I really wanted to spend some time
there with somone very special.

.....on a different note/POV.. I know SBC has been targeted and
threatened, Disneyland threatened and Disney threatened.. but reality is
-- that anyone causing any mass/major trouble at Disneyland could quite
easily injure many Guests in, near, around or half the park away from
"The Castle" if they were so sick, crazy, inclined and got away with any
real explosive terrorism (airplanes, bombs on person, bombs planted,
etc).

Closing the Castle is not protecting it nor ANY Guests inside Disneyland
.. and that is the only reality of the situation IMO.

WDW has been threatened as the news and (daff) authorities have stated.
I would guess that WDW major icons were targetted .. like SBC is at
DL... or maybe the Matterhorn. Why is the Matterhorn still open? Why
is Spaceship Earth still open? World Showcase? The Tree of Life?

I kinda think the Castle walk-thru was closed 'at one time' due to
'security reasoning' (Disney has confirmed that) .. but for no camera's
being installed for security in the Castle and then it re-opening.. I
think it's still closed due to ADA reasons.
Something makes me feel that. Not sure what. But 'security matters'
could be handled with cameras and the 'reality of and
wide-spead/distance effects of explosive terrorism' should be logically
realized and the Castle should re-open. It's being closed is no
protecting ANYONE .. who could as easily in the Castle as he/she/they
are under, around, next to, half the park away or in one fo the Castles
shops. There has to be more than jsut a 'security risk copout' at this
time. IMO.

I can't remember the exact date it closed, but it was the first day of the
war in Afghanistan, and yes, word was that it was believed to be a target.
