I just saw a commercial showing Mark McGwire hitting the home run and
everything, then he was holding his son, and he said the famous line, "I'm
going to Disneyland!" and then it showed the castle. And it said Disneyland and
showed www.disney.com in the lower corner. Pretty cool!

Give some respect to the Disneyland Parkinglot tram (aka tramzilla). After all,
they DO carry our tired asses back to our cars at the end of the night.

You know you're watching ABC when you keep seeing the same Disneyland
commercial over and over and over and over and over and over again.

(or as AChemDoc says-- 'Oh, yeah, knowing that Mark McGwire is going to go to
Disneyland sometime in the next year is gonna make ME wanna run to go there!')

Yup, and Whose Line is it Anyways, the funniest shows this side, that side,
west side, east side, north side, south side, any side of the border.

We've been enjoying _Ellen_ reruns on Lifetime daily at 6. The old shows
were really the funniest, anyway.

Typically, the commercials are shown regionally. If you live in the eastern
half of the country, you see the WDW ad and if you live in the western half
you see the DL ad.

I like the Disneyland commericals, but do you notice that the fireworks going
off over SB Castle are "centered" over the castle like they USED to be. Now
they are over to the left of the castle.... doesn't have the same beautiful
effect. :-(

Amen to that, Josh! WLiiA is THE funniest show on TV. It has been renewed for
13 more weeks, though this past week (last night's) was the last new one for a
couple of weeks, while they record new episodes ;)

Alright! We looked at the new line up, but the dumbest show, "That 70s Show",
but I was hoping they just changed the time or day, and I guess so! Did you
ever see the originals, from about '91 from England? They played them on Comedy
Central last summer, every 12:00 PM, so I got to see it everyday last summer :)

Also OT:

The British version (sometimes on Comedy Central, depending on their
programmer's whims) is even funnier. Ryan Stiles and Colin Mockery (sp?) were
on that version also, along with Greg Proops and Michael somebody-or-another
who is a regular on the Lawrence Brothers show. I'm glad that this "niche"
comedy is finding a wider audience. It's one of the few shows (in either
English or American) which makes me LOL while watching TV.

Yup! Bit of a fan, myself. They actually run from about 1988 (without Ryan
Stiles) to the early 90s (with Ryan Stiles). You will recognize a number of
the participants who are now doing other things, including voiceovers. A
wonderful show that proves that ingenuity, intelligence and low-tech can find
an audience survive in the vast TV wasteland.

Not in this case. The WDW one was running here in Seattle.

Not anymore.
Disneyland's customers are now fair game for the far-superior WDW to advertise
to, now that Disney is no longer a 'Team' except in the name of their corporate
HQ.

I really, *really* miss the British host (Clive something, I believe).
Drew Carey just isn't in his class. Drew's attempt at improv at the end
of the last show was painful. And no-body wins the right to read the
credits in a style that the host choses! (Unless I'm just tuning out too
early to see it...)

On the east coast, he says "I'm going to Disneyworld!" (I get east
coast stations on my satellite dish.)

I saw the DL commercial last night (I think it must have been during Star
Trek on SciFi). I haven't seen the WDW one yet, but yes I've seen -many-
WDW commercials here in the LA area. Especially last year during their
big 25th Anniversary thingy.

No, you're not, the "winner" gets to do an improv sketch with Drew as the
fourth member, with one of the others sitting at the desk. I think the
"reading the credits" bit wouldn't play very well on the US version, but
something else ought to be done.

BTW, there's a new Whose Line newsgroup: alt.tv.whose-line

I agree. Clive Anderson was the man (although he did talk fast ;) - Drew Carey
seems to rush it way to much. He doesnt do much at the end - plus his jokes are
ALL the same (if your TV was made in America. . .". I dont like the way they
start and end the show, without a real theme song (i loved the old theme). But,
besides that, i LOVE THIS SHOW. IT WILL MAKE IT!

But of course- in reality- he would go to DisneyLand more. Or at least I
assume, since he was born and raised in So Cal, went to a great
university (USC baby!) in So Cal and of course, still Lives in So Cal.
So it wouldn't surprise me a bit if he did go to Disneyland.

I went to a taping of this show about 6 weeks ago. It was so funny my face
muscles had cramps from laughing!!!!! The great part about a taping is that we
watched those incredibly talented people improvise for over two hours!! It was
so great. The down side was after the show was taped, then the director spent
about an hour taping US laughing hilariously ( for reaction shots they didn't
get on tape before) and various exit lines to commercials, etc. And I agree
that Drew Carey is the weakest link. But it was so worth it. I can't wait -
if this show gets picked up permanently, I am definitely going back for more!
Glad to hear there's a newsgroup for this show. See you fans there!

Glad to hear there are others who share our enthusiasm for this show. My
wife and I stumbed on the British version a couple of years ago and almost
died laughing at Ryan Stiles, Greg Proops, Josi ???, Mike McShay, and
Gordon. Some great improv talents, and they've added a couple more in the
American show. I hope it makes it. And Drew Carey definitely needs to do a
better job as host. Hopefully he'll warm up to it.

I loved the British version! I taped a few episodes when it was on Comedy
Central. Just so you know, it's Josie Lawrence.

Definitely but I would like to see the comeback of Tony Slattery from the
British version. He was always good for a laugh...and they need more females!

Yeah, he is very stiff, but I'm sure he'll get better...if not I want Clive
