OK guys- I'm 3 days and 300 messeges behind, so forgive me if this has already
been discussed.. we just got a postcard for a piece of artwork showing the
design for the new rocket rods and Observatron. has anyone seen this piece in
the gallery? is it worth getting? what sort of frame do they have it in there?
I know there is an autographing session for it on the 28th.. can I phone in a
request to have it autographed and sent up to the bay area?
thanks
hope to see you all some sunday.

What a coincidence. I just ordered mine through the Disney DelivEARS, since I
won't be at the signing on Saturday. There are only 300 lithos available, and a
small number of them (don't know how many) have been set aside for mail order.
I spoke with a very helpful CM (I wish I could remember his name!) in the DL
Gallery on Monday afternoon about this. If you look on the bottom of your
postcard, you'll see the line "For ordering information please call (800)
760-3566" in bold type. This is the Disney DelivEARS mail order dept. Their hours
are Mon-Sat 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Call them about ordering one and having it shipped
to your home.
As of yesterday morning when I ordered my litho, they still had some available. I
saw the framed litho in the Gallery, which is why I ordered one ($175 framed, $65
without). The silver metal frame with the silver and turquoise highlighted matt is
very nice. This is one of the best concept artworks for New Tomorrowland I've
seen. I rarely purchase concept art of this nature, but I feel this was a good
buy.
Oh, if you do order one this way, Eric will sign it on Saturday, before it's sent
to the framers (if you order one framed). After that, it's shipped to your door
via FedEx.

... apple carts, time machines, and antiquated submarines ...
I loved the art work when the gallery first opened. I have two lithos
from New Orleans SQ. and Tony Baxters concept for Discovery Bay. I
also have a bronze statue from Fantasia. I kick my self for not
buying the Golden Horseshoe print, everytime I think about it.
Not only do they not have enough selection at the Gallery, what they
do have isn't very good. I wish they would move the anamation art to
another shop and stick with WDI art work at the gallery.
I agree a lot of the collectible stuff is worthless, because the
edition sizes are too high for them to become valuable -- it's just a
sales gimmick to charge a premium price. An art gallery owner told me
not to buy any limited edition with over 500 in the series as an
investment -- anything over 500 should be bought because you love the
work of art and can't live without it.
