Any theories as to what damage the collision did to the Mustang ?
Looks as though it might have chopped the rudder off, but the film doesn't
seem to show it coming away, unless it got itself attached to the
Skyraider's severed wingtip.
Great that both pilots afre OK. Pity about the Mustang, but at least
there's no shortage of them

There are plenty of forum comments photos & videos of this event, it seems
that the Skyraider took a large bite out of the rear fuse of the Mustang,
which chopped control cables etc. No recovery possible.
But very quick thinking by the pilot, who immediately jettisoned his canopy
and took to the silk in the nick of time.
