I was just wondering what around the uk is being done to attempt to interest
the older visually impaired person to get online?
I personally feel a lot of people would embrace it if..
It was given the right treatment. Free screenreaders, a machine, probably
second hand, set up simply so most things are easy to get at, a cheap
broadband connection was available. And of course, some support and training
was given. Cost should be minimal, though probably not free completely as
many feel they do not like to get charity.
So, are there some successful initiatives out there?
I'd be interested in knowing what works, as our local society has fiddled
around the edges of this with poor success for some time now and its
irritating me.
