Happy groundhog day! I don't know how widespread this custom is among
the free squirrels, but my colony always treated it as a day for
partying, sort of the squirrel St. Patrick's Day. Woodchuck cider is
often involved. [hop wiggle]

p.s. Did anyone else see a transmission from a "Zodi Dodec"? I caught
something. . . that doesn't look like a bunny name. Could it be a new
ally?

They are one of ours, don't worry about it

Err, sorry, I'm told they are most definitely not one of ours.

Ummm, or perhaps so

[ruffle] This is rather ominous.

[suspicious wiggle] Standard bunny propaganda, it looks like. I should
know, I used to write the stuff. [shamefluff]

Not celebrated at Namakata. I couldn't give two flicks of my tale if
that groundhog in Pennsylvania saw his tail or not. I'm sure he's not
too happy being dragging out of his warm burrow out into the cold to
be yelled and sneared at by a bunch of humans who have been imbibing
alcoholic beverages all night long.

I think this silly human custom is overrated. Anyone in the Northern
Hemisphere with a calendar can tell you there's roughly 6 weeks
between Feb. 2 and the Spring Equinox.

Of course, here in the Maine Wilderness, if spring weather was really
only six weeks away, that would be distressing news. It would imply
that global warming really is on the rise. We'll be lucky if we only
have 8 more weeks of winter weather here.

(negativeflick) Of course with a name like that, it was probably
purged by our spam filters as some sort of ad for human drugs to
enhance their sexual organs.

I've always wondered if any of the warrens tried enlisting groundhogs,
with the squirrelvirus or otherwise. Neither I nor any of my squirrel
compatriots have ever heard of such a thing, but, well, you never know.

Ah. My guess: not a devilbunny. Devilbunnies don't really want human
populations to decline. They like having them around too much.
