The Doctrine of Sensible Attitude

Got grief over an issue of infidelity with a friend. Doing something which might lead to VDs and you are not sure if you really care. I suppose that is a sensible attitude. Sticking your head in a bucket full of ice water can be sensible as well - take the ice bucket challenge - but sometimes there are things best not practiced a great deal. I mean, don't sweat it. She's only got minor VDs. Probably only minor strains of herpes. That's all those spots are. Hopefully. A sensible attitude needs wisdom, and wisdom needs a sensible attitude. The first thing a sensible attitude finally realizes is that it might not have a sensible attitude. Sort of, if you see what I mean, the first thing to realize is not what you know, but how much you don't. That's been said before, of course. But when you realize there is a lot more wisdom you might not have discovered in life yet, a sensible attitude takes that with some grace, and acknowledges they don't yet understand all the divine mysteries. And a truly humble attitude will realize it probably never will. To have knowledge you must study. To gain wisdom from knowledge, you usually have to ponder the knowledge and understand it somewhat, something more than schooled repetition. Let it sink in. Consider the teaching. Try and understand how it applies in the real world of life in general. And the core of a truly remarkable sensible attitude is realizing you might not yet know all the answers on life, are prepared to seek them out, and work out those things which prolong life in a more prosperous way. Some things to consider: How are your actions and words affecting others? Do they help or hinder? Are you getting along with people? Do people like you? Or are you just a know it all with a big chip on your shoulder? Try humility. Try acknowledging your limitations, and you will probably learn a bit better to think more carefully about life issues, with a more sensible attitude, and have a more prosperous life because of it.
