By the way, _everyone_ using some version of
MS-Windows should download Click-N-Type, install it,
and have a desktop icon for it (I dragged one from
the Start menu) "just in case". It was a life-saver.

It is _intended_ as an aid to the motor-handicapped,
so it does stuff like scale to full screen size in
case the user is also visually impaired, which is
very nice for legally blind (requires 4 diopter
correction) me.

I'd personally redesign most of the interface

[Why have shift keys and multiple glyphs per
key, and other physical typewriter
infelicities, when you aren't even
respecting the QWERTY layout and could just
as easily have separate keys for upper and
lower case letters, for "1" and "!", and so
on? There's no need to _force_ the
infelicities of a limited keys physical
keyboard into an unlimited keys virtual
one. I'd also internationalize the alphabet,
perhaps as clickable "locale" options.]

but the "typed into any application I tried" is
worth its weight in gold, and the "shift, control,
meta keys all lock when pressed" is wonderful, if
occasionally hard to remember to unclick later.

xanthian.
