I've just listed on www.ebay.com a mint copy of:
Bruno Munari "Pensare Confonde Le Idee"
Signed And Numbered Edition Limited To 50 Copies
This softcover book was designed by the artist as real work of art: in this
very special edition it comes with a nice cardboard bookmark signed and
numbered to only 50 copies with magnifying lens and sachet of taraxacum
seeds. This is the 30/50 copy.
Playful description of how to create an underground city with a brilliant
green roof-lawn: a collection of artistic ideas and examples as input for
intellectual play.
The multi-talented Bruno Munari, born 24 October 1907 in Milan, was a
painter, graphic designer, sculptor, photographer and writer. He was a
member of the Milanese Futurist group from 1927 and, with them, took part in
several exhibitions such as the Biennial Exhibition of Modern Art in Venice,
the Quadriennial Exhibition in Rome, The Triennial Exhibition in Milan and
in Paris. In 1930 he co-signed the theoretical declaration of the Milanese
Futurist group and in 1934, he co-signed the Technical Manifesto of Futurism
Aeroplastics. After the Second War World and through into the 1980's, Munari
worked primarily as a graphic designer but he also created a series of
books, games and other products for children as well as designing commercial
products. He was awarded a special prize by the Japan Design Foundation in
1985 and a prize for graphics was awarded by the Accademia dei Lincei in
1988. Towards the end of his life, Munari had a series of prestigious
one-man shows in Tokio, Paris, Jerusalem, Genoa and Milan. He died in Milan
on 29 September 1998.
