uh.....this may sound silly but im having a hard time getting a demo of
painter 6 to try it for the 14days thing. I went to metacreations.com and
they sold it to corel. Visiting corel I saw no demo. I went to download.com
found it there, but on download found it to be corel presentation ::shrug::.
Can someone give me a clue or help me out in any way.

Hey bro, if you can't find painter...give Deep Paint a spin.

www.softseek.com is an excellent place to look for stuff, freeware, shareware,
commercial stuff, most with trials. Also some nifty games.

It may be way too late, but I got Painter 5.5 for Free on the September
Issue of PC Format. That is if you have Windows. Could be Mac Format did the
same thing. Best $15 I've ever spent. Maybe they have some back issues left.

But hey, if you're a Photoshop Freak, then Deep Paint might be your answer.
I think the demo allows you to save, and do something like 40 hours of work
on it. Man, I'm tempted to try it, but I'm just getting the hang of
Painter....

Deep Paint crashed my system not once, but twice. Be careful.

No -- Windows 98. Happened to someone else on the group, too.

Not only Deep Paint........

I have installed Painter a few minutes ago (demo)... installation successful
without errors.

I run the program... Blue screen after blue screen after blue screen...... 3
different errors, and then the first one came back and so on.... Had to use
my reset button for the first time in 2 months (really).

I'm using Win98 SE on a Athlon 800, 256 MB SDRAM... All programs I wanted to
use are working but Painter gave the biggest crash I've seen in 2,5 year!

No painter for me anymore... (I've got a full version of Painter 4 somewhere
on a feature cd from a magazine... maybe that one works...)

I never had any problems with Painter -- I use the full version of 5 at
work. Deep Paint, though, was a great program...except for the crashes.
