That's actually really not at all amazing and it likely didn't take
them more than five minutes of "bother" if they were at least
semi-proficient at graphic remanipulation and making "fauxpics" as I
call them:

Not that it all has to be for satire and parody though, the art can

Some people might classify it as just being one particular aspect of
graphic design, but I really do think that graphic remanipulation is
in a class in and of itself. After all, you're not really "designing"
anything so much as you're ripping apart and reconstructing various
sources to create realistic illusion. You could even classify it as
graphic magic, or graphic illusion. It may use the same tools as
graphic design, but the fundamental principles behind what's being
made are completely different.
