get this out to any one you know in kansas

More sad news from Kansas, Please lets all call and
get the word out to call.

Well fellow veterans, as we work hard to get Kansas
house bill 2770 passed, we may want to look at what is
going on at our state house. I am worried about what
is going on with the state budget. The state is short
on funds and we all know that. What you need to know
is how not funding the KCVA is going to hurt veterans
and the state as a whole.

Fist off, out state worked with the VA to open up the
Winfield veteran?s home. The KCVA needs the state to
fund $2 Mil for the next to building to open. These
building were fixed up with VA money, about $5mil I
think. Well the state cut this funding from the KCVA
in hopes of saving $$$$$$. Well they for some reason
do not under stand that the $2 mil will come back to
the state, in about 6 months, as veterans fill up the
building.
However, by not opening them the STATE WILL HAVE TO
PAY BACK THE $5MIL to the VA.
This will cost us an added $3 mil. now and two more
down the road.

Call and tell your State reps not to close the door on
your father and grandfathers, open the home and fund
them right. We do not want those that served his
country living out their last days in the street and
homeless shelters.

We do not need to pay the VA for two building that
will not be used.

Ask them how many other programs will we have to repay
the federal government.

We need to fight so that our fellow veterans can live
with pride.

Well folks we are making some head way with the funding for the KCVA.
So I would like to say thank-you to all that have helped.

Lets we need to get the word to all the veterans list you are on and
to any one you know that lives in kansas that would like to help
veterans.

Just got a call from the state house and Rep Ken Wilk wants to know if
the veterans are in favor of adding $3 to the registration of the
veterans plates and ALL of that money going to the KCVA.

Forward this letter with you line as " I support the $3 fee for
hb2770. Let take care of our veterans"

I see no problem with it, this means the fee will go to $30 per year.
We need to make them under stand that any and ALL money, above the
plain Kansas plates, raised from NEEDS TO GO FOR THE KCVA.

So once again, I need every one to call or write the committee members
and tell them it is ok to raise the rates.

We need to under stand that our state is real sort on cash.

Here is the link to the state house, and the names of the committee
members, lets get those letters going, all you need to do is send a
short letter saying you support the $3 free.

Here are the committee members of the Appropriations.

Wilk, Chairperson; Neufeld, Vice-Chairperson; Bethel, Campbell,
Hermes, Kline, Landwehr, Light, McCreary, J. Peterson, Pottorff,
Schwartz, Shulz, Stone, Toplikar
Nichols, Ranking Minority Member, Ballard, Feuerborn, Henry, Klein,
Minor, Shirver, Spangler.
