Does Dish Network or any of its local distributors offer maintenence
contracts for repair of the dish? This is the second time my dish seems to
be having major problems that require a technician to go up on the roof.
Since I own the equipment, I am expected to pay. I live in NYC.

Yup. $2 a month.

I thought the $2 per month warranty was just for the equipment.
Does it cover dish re-alignment?

I thought it covered everything. But now I'm not sure...

The $2/month extended warranty covers inside equipment only. I tried
to get Dish to come out and re-align my dish but they said that was not
part of the service.

It's my understanding it covers *all* equipment, inside and out, but does
not cover realignment, repositioning, or cabling.

Cubit,

You are absolutely correct the Dish Warranty only covers the Hardware. No
service person will come to your house to fix or realign your dish for this
$1.99 per month. It only covers replacement of hardware, you have to swap out
the hardware and install any of the replaced hardware and in most cases drop the
defective hardware into the box with the prepaid shipping label and drop the
package off at a Pack and ship site or the Shippers drop location.

Guy,

Not quite correct the Warranty covers all Dish Network Hardware inside
and out. What it doesn't cover is cable and any installation, that has to
be provided by you, If you dish is torn from its mounting location and is
damaged in the process, Under Dishs' warranty program you would get a New
Dish and mount but you would have to reinstall it yourself.
