I'm using my TV as a sat finder. What transponder should I set it to, to
re-point the dish from 61.5 to 72.7? I tried several different ones and
it didn't work. I got my el & az from dishpointer.com (as my DVR won't
give me the coordinates for 72.7)

So I just finished pointing the dish back to 61.5 and came in the house
to write this message. I just need to know which transponder to set for
72.7 to get a signal strength other than zero ;)

Thanks.

James

Are you a "110/119 with a wing at 61.5" user? If so, be aware that you
can't just swing the 61.5 dish up to 72.7--and leave it there. Unlike
129 the 72.7 bird does NOT (YET--maybe by year end) carry the HD
currently on 61.5 so you would pick up the NEW HD channels--but LOSE the
old ones. Probably NOT what you want :-). 110/119/61.5 users *can* re-
point the 61.5 antenna to 129. Or let Dish swap out for a Western ARC
1000.2 dish for 110/119/129 or Eastern ARC 1000.4 dish for 61.5/72.7/77.
The unlucky blokes who can't see either group fully are going to have to
get creative :-)

Here in NW Oregon, I can easily see both the 129 and the 61.5, but many
of the HD transponders on the 61.5 are weak as I am only 10 degrees
above the horizon. The tps with the PI channels are good and strong. I
hooked up a 3rd dish to the 129 for the time being and disconnected the
61.5. A bit later on, I will get the 1000.2 an then use the 61.5 for a
wing for Euro News, KBS, etc.

Thanks Jud, this is good to know. The way my 119/110 & 61.5 dishes are
located on my house, I would not be able to align one dish to 129 and
keep the 110/119 (they are too close together), so they would overlap.
It works fine now only because the 61.5 dish points east. So I'll
probably have to remount these, or just let Dish install a 1000.2.

Thanks

Take the 1000.2. We did, and got to keep our older MPEG2 receivers, with the
benefit of only having one dish to muck up the roof line instead of 2 :-)
