Picture quality of Football games

After reading about and expereinceing the piss poor picture quality of some
sports on Dish I decided to do a small survey of the preseason NFL games I
was able to receive this evening graded on a poor-excellant scale here is
what I found.

NFL games Friday evening 08/18/2000
Channel Station Grade

748 Detroit CBS Fair
243 NY CBS Good
140 ESPN Good
849 Raleigh Fox Fair
856 San Diego CBS Fair
871 Nashville ABC Poor Very grainy and jerky.

If I was in Nashville I wuld be raisning hell about the picture they are
trying to pass off to you guys. The others were watchable ESPN and NY CBS
had the best. Guess they are not compressing the feeds on 119 as hard as
110.

Doesn't surprise me that ESPN and NY has the best pictures...those are
nationally carried. Difference between a few people in a certain
locale bitching or people bitching nationally. I have DC locals and
they seem to be decent but not as good as NY or LA.

Although I am not a fan of a big fat practice session, I did watch
about 5 minutes of the game on ABC to see what the picture looked
like. I didn't like what I saw at all.
