Hey Dave V

It's that time of year again, so I figured that it's about time I
spoke to the only other Dave in the world and wished you a Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year. What are you up to these days?

Regards
Dave C

Hi, it does seem that there are only two Daves in the world.

Happy New Year and a fun Boxing Day. It's funny how an ancient
Roman celebration, the Saturnalia, could evolve into a bargain
shopping day.

It certainly is here, what with being in the icy grip of the credit
crunch. I've never before seen so much stuff in the shops knocked down
to half price. Pity I don't actually need anything right now. There
are a lot of UK retail chain stores in severe trouble due to the lack
of Christmas shoppers. Even Woolworths closed its 340 UK doors for the
last time a week ago and its 30,000 staff are not sure whether they
are going to get paid for December. I'm thankful to be retired and
somewhat insulated from it all.

Cheers

I'm somewhat insulated too, but that's because of good planning.
My mortgage is a small one, about 1/4 of the value of the
property. My payments are real low.

We have a whole city here in California where most of
the people owe more than the homes, many less than 5 years old,
are worth.
