Don't Buy The Lie

What's the reason you won't find many computer repairs in Brighton?

In truth it is because although technology may be faster and bigger
every 6 months, what you have will last perfectly fine for at least 2
or 3 years, sometimes much longer.

I know someone who's equipment is from around 1995, made by SGI (bet
you never heard of them) and I once had a Mac that was from around
1992, it ran really well for word processing and a flight simulator.
It wouldn't play today's graphics intensive games, of course, it just
did what I wanted it to do and probably still would. Sadly, I lost it
when I moved house which is another story!

So why am I telling you all this? The reason is that it is cheaper and
much better for you and the environment to have someone upgrade,
maintain or repair and look after your computer than it is to buy a
new one! Especially if you buy only because you feel yours is too old,
yes it may go slow, that's because parts need replacing.

It is so easy to feel that your computer is being left behind, when
everyday we are bombarded with advertising that says we should just
throw away our old stuff and get a new one. That's fine if you can put
in on your tax evading expenses but where does it leave you and me?
They say that the recession is nearly over, well it hasn't put any
extra in my account yet, what about you?

What would you rather have, a whole new computer for around £300, or a
repair and upgrade costing maybe £50 - £150, depending what you have
done? The computer you have will work fine for another couple of
years, and by then the price of the new stuff that's being released
now will have fallen to the point that it is reasonably cheap to get
what's just becoming available now.

Technochi doesn't want to sell you a new computer, we want you to get
the best out of the one you already have. Don't listen to the big
names, they don't care about you, just profits and their share price.
