Dear friends,

Depression is a serious, often life-threatening illness. For a long time, many
people-including many healthcare professionals-have thought that depression was
a "woman's disease." However, that unflattering stereotype has been harmful
to women, and has been very harmful to men.

While many men suffer from depression, few of them are willing to seek
treatment. In fact, many men are unaware that depression is usually
treatable, and that they do not have to feel miserable. Now, many healthcare
professionals believe that men may manifest depression somewhat differently
than women do.

Thus, there is good news. Today, men are getting treatment for depression, and
doctors are more aware of the occurrence of depression in men.
MaleDepression.com wants to help build awareness, and support men who suffer
depression.

MaleDepression.com will strive to be your source for up-to-date information
about male depression, and for finding the help you need. The site will be
growing rapidly. You will find the site at the following URL.
