The Cradle-to-Prison Pipeline
Workshop at the Left Forum
by Parents in Action for Leadership and Human Rights

Come and Join Us

Sunday, June 1st, 2014
12pm to 1:50pm

At John Jay College of Criminal Justice
524 West 59th Street, New York, NY, 10019, Room 1.85
(Between 10th and 11th Avenues in Manhattan)
Trains 1, A, B, C, D to Columbus Circle-59 Street Stop

Analysis on how the different systems of oppression coordinate and reinforce each other in order to maintain the dominant role & privileges of a small group (the Ruling elite) at the expense of the vast majority. Includes the Health & Medical Care Industries, the Public Schooling Industry, the Foster Care Industry, the Juvenile Delinquency Industry, the Homeless Industry, the Prison Industry, the Court Industry, the Mental Health Industry, the Child Protection Industry, etc, all of them tacitly collaborating to perpetuate the status quo. It also addresses the fact that Bright and Rebellious children (the Natural Leaders) are forced into Special Needs classes where they are given psychotropic drugs that harm them. 96% of the 11,500 children in foster care in NYC are Black or Latino, and 75% of them end up as part of the Prison Industry. Let's Together Find Solutions. If you have time come at 10am for a friendly workshop with former CPS attorney David Bliven, in room 1.105: Struggles in Foster Care and Child Welfare
