Actually, I'd like to see Anne Parlaund (sp?), the chick from La Femme
Nikita (the movie), as Molly. Or, hee hee, Jaime Lee Curtis. :)

I think Fairuza Balk looks too young and rounded to play Molly. When
I think of Molly, I think of somebody dark and almost angular in the
face. Trinity from The Matrix might make a decent Molly, but she's a
bit short.

For whatever reason I've always pictured Andrea Parker (The Pretender) as
Molly.

You're probably thinking of the American remake, "Point of No
Return," which actually had Bridget Fonda (not Jennifer Jason
Leigh) playing the Nikita character. The original French film,
"La Femme Nikita," had Anne Parillaud (sp?) playing the title character.

ha, ben stein as an AI! :)
actually i had not thought of christian slater, but i would not mind
seeing him in one a cynical role again. i'd look forward to seeing him
as case.
i really can't see anyone but the matrix girl^M^M^M^M^M^Mcarrie-anne
moss (there, now we can use her name) as molly, since i thought she
was a razor girl when she first appeared in matrix.

after vgrep'ing the idiot box tonight (there was a movie on), i came up
with another suggestion for Molly - The redhaired grrly in the movie
Executive Target. Her character is called Lacey and is a toughnut but
slick 'razor grrl', the actress is Angie Everhart. Very cool and calculating.

Good call! She would be great for that role.
The last time I read it, I thought of Jonny Lee Miller as Riviera for
some reason. Just had a weird idea for Case, too,....how about Robert
Downey, Jr.?

No, no, no. I've told you once, Christina Ricci is *ideal* for Molly.

It's weird, but I've always had Anthony James (Naked Gun 2.5,
Unforgiven) in my mind as Riviera, which obviously doesn't make sense
at all since he's far from blonde....after reading Neuromacer for the
7th time I finally realised.
As for other characters:
Case : very difficult one. It'll probably be Keanu Reeves, but after
Johnny Mnemonic I despise the very thought of it. Maybe Stephen Caffry
(Tour of Duty) could be the man
Molly : Dinah Meyer wasn't all that bad in Johnny Mnemonic I think.
Finn : Anybody thought of Brian Dennehey? In a ridiculous mood I could
also think of Sean Connery :)

We all know Keanu will get the part.
which sucks. Keanu is such a pussyboy, even after the matrix. looks like a
starving dog to me.
neuromancer would work best with an actor totally unknown, not even a B-list
type person. if i see people too well known in a movie i think "what's ____
gonna do next?" instead of getting into the movie, i can't even call the
actor by the character name.
prime example: the thin red line. john travolta cameo. it totally threw
me off the course of the movie, because here was that fat bastard travolta
giving orders in a uniform. it was totally unbelievable.
pissed me off. (obviously)

I'd like to see him do the Finn. Case should be a bit more... I

That sort of thing. Steve Buscemi looks a bit too... Thick, I guess.
I really think none of the current big-name actors looks right. I'd
