Hemingway, Vonnegut, Pynchon... been there done that.
Anyone got anything to say on my *fave* author Mark Leyner?
I have "My cousin, my Gastroenterologist" and "et tu, babe" and think
it is the greatest literary experience you can have without drugs.
This guy takes cyberpunk and pop culture and shreds it, distills it through
lace lingerie, and ends up with a totally mindblowing concoction of
nootropic verbal effluent that will shat-ter your reality/fantasy dichotomy!

Thats MO.

Haven't read him, but...isn't that a waste of lace lingerie?

(sorry, it's early or late, depending...)

Only two things to say:

1. He's my favorite modern author.
2. His new book will be called _Tooth Imprints on a Corn Dog_ and is
currently awaiting publication release.

Oh yes! New Leyner! Life is good. My copy of My Cousin My
Gastroenterologist was one of my most prized books until my ex-roommate
moved to Winnipeg with it.

Definitely check him out if you haven't yet.

I'm also a Mark Leyner fan, though I've only read "et tu, babe" and some
short pieces. Haven't been able to get my hands on "My Cousin, My
Gastroenterologist." Leyner is hilarious, surreal, brilliant, impossible
to put down.

There's an interesting interview with Leyner on the Wellgopher, somewhere
in the Cyberpunk & Postmodern Culture section.
