What was Nickelodeon's best year?

For me it was 1995. I think it started going downhill around
1998-1999, and by 2003, the channel was dead.

I'm older, but I really liked Snick back when they were doing
Roundhouse and Are You Afraid of the Dark? 1992-93, I guess.

1988. By that time, the had lost Danger Mouse, Belle and
Sebastian, The Little Prince, Spartacus, Mysterious Cities of Gold, You
Can't Do that on Television, Turkey Television, Bananaman, Count
Duckula, Nick Rocks: Video to Go, all for shows that turned out to be
horrible.
