Shadoe, I agree that the New York Dolls were the the best glam rock band. Glam
or glitter rock started in the early 1970's.
David Bowie was my favorite glam rock singer. KISS had the glam rock look, and
were pretty good musically, even if they're much maligned.

Poison was my favorite... I still listen to their tapes. And after
hearing CRACK A SMILE - I'm eagerly waiting the new album!!

<<KISS had the glam rock look>>

Yes, they did. The evolved with the music very well... When they started
in '73 they were punk, and then disco in '79, and pop in '80, and glam
through-out the eighties, and '92, they were metal, and '97 they were
alternitive.

The new album (of the original 4) comes out in Sept. and the music is a like
they were back in the '70's with a touch of '90s to it (i.m.o)

painting the basement the other day and popped in a tape I had mixed that
had a lot of old, non-single Crue songs.kicked ass!!

You're right, but they wore as much hair spray and make up as everyone
else (well, except for Poison).

I was a sucker for Poison, but I'm wondering - does anybody remember Roxx
Gang? They were very glam, later 80's group. They had one minor hit called
"Scratch My Back."

I remember Roxx Gang! Here in the Tampa Bay area, they weren't too
minor, because they were local. I had their album _Things You've Never
Done Before_ (if I remember the title correctly) and "Scratch My Back was
one of my favorites.

They used to and still are one of my favorites. Remember the song 'Ball &
Chain' It is one of my all time favorite songs, a classic. Apperently the
have a second album they released in 95 called 'The Voodo You Do' I found it
by just searching through the cut out bin at a local record store. It's a
great CD. If you like the first album you like this one too, becaus they
sound a lot alike. Nice to know there still some 80's glam music still around
in the 90's.
