Remember classic Anthony Michael Hall? Funny, witty, thin, charming,
Sixteen Candles, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, blah, blah, blah?
Why did he change his image? He ruled but he became a bit of a
meat-head in following movies such as Johnny Be Good, and Edward
Scissorhands. I mean, did he want to prove his thespian capabilities by
proving he could play a dumb jock? Did he take steroids? How did he
suddenly become so stupid? Was it puberty (God forbid)? Anthony Michael
Hall, we miss you, man. The REAL you.

PS: Uma Thurman's first motion picture was Johnny Be Good, don't let
anyone tell you different.

Anthony Michael Hall was an 80's icon. Weird Science is my all-time
favorite "cult" movie of the 80's. I think he was a victim of his age.
It seems as though as the "brat pack" from the Breakfast Club grew up,
their roles were depleted or completely out of character. Had it not
been for Emilio and Charlie Sheen working on theuir own productions,
they may not have done as well either. Who'd have thought that a
decade after the Breakfast Club, Judd Melson would be playing Brooke
Shields' boss on Suddenly Susan???

I have to admit, I thought Judd Nelson was kinda cute in TBC, but now, he's
not the same cocky bigmouth like in his 80's appearances. What's up? If
these guys can be that way once, why not now?
Long live the 80's!

Um, well Rob Lowe is still acting in and producing feature films, Demi
Moore is the highest-paid woman in Hollywood, Emilio Estevez continues to
star in and produce major motion pictures, Anthony Michael Hall has
recently done some stage acting in New York as well as some B-level roles
in feature films, Ally Sheedy has written and published two best-selling
poetry tomes, and Mare Winningham recently starred in the Oscar-nominated
"Georgia".

Did anyone catch that tv movlast year that he was in? Of course I can't
remember the name, I can never remember names. He played some terrorist
type dude aboard an airplane. I barely recognized him... he has not aged
well.

Incidentally, did anyone see that "What ever happened to.." blurb in
Entertainment Weekly a couple of weeks ago about him? It said he turned
down quite a few film roles, trying not to be typecast (I think that move
was done a little too late). Anyway, my point was going to be that he
turned down roles in "Pretty In Pink" and "Ferris Bueller." Isn't weird
to think how things would be totally different if he were Ducky or Ferris?
Wild.
Jon Cryer and Matt Broderic(k?) are gggrrr-eat but don't you
think Anthony Michael Hall made a stupid decision turning down these
classic roles. These could have saved his career, don't you agree. I
still maintain that he probably took steroids in later years -- he
started looking a bit freaky, eh?

Did the article actually SAY he turned down the part of Ferris? I would
have seen him as more the Cameron type.
