I have to admit, I STILL eat this crap, and I don't care if my daughter eats it.  I mean, it's only breakfast!  And it's better than skipping breakfast all together. (Yes, I'm a cool mom.....I leave lots of batter in the bowl when making cakes instead of scraping it completely clean, that way my daughter has lots to lick. ha ha ha)  So my favorite cereals then AND now:

Cocoa Puffs
Lucky Charms
Trix (BEFORE they changed....they are totally different now...almost GLAZED and shiny, they never used to be)
Corn Pops
Peanut Butter Crunch (by Cap'n Crunch, you forgot that one, Scott.
Fruit Loops

Grape Nuts and Special K, when I'm in a "healthy mood."  I should have been an honorary Seinfeld castmember, because I love cereal.

As a kid, I liked Freakies (just for the prizes), Franken Berry (don't know if I could stomach it now), and Quisp!  And I am 31, since you asked....

I know I never got sick from eating cake batter of eating raw cookie dough. I
don't know why they started saying you shouldn't do that. I still love eating
raw cookie dough, it's better than the cookies. :)

My list (in no  order)

1) Freakies
2) King Vitamin (I just saw this one in the store the other day)
3) Rice Crispies
4) Cheerios
5) Frosted Mini Wheats (I still love them. I eat them as if they were cookies)
6) Granola (I was an odd child)
7) Raisin Bran (my mother stopped buying it because we would just eat the raisins)
8) Lucky Charms
9) Super Sugar Crisps
10) Fruit Loops

I never liked milk in my cereal, except for granola. The only ones I still eat are the frosted Mini Wheats and granola. I can't even look at Cheerios anymore after seeing pictures of them stuck to my brother's always running nose (gross!)

OK, I guess I'm the oddball here -- never liked most of the sugar cereals too
much. I know I had occasional Apple Jacks, ate a lot of Life, but my favorite
that I'm so bummed they don't make anymore was Post Oat Flakes. I'd snack on
that dry just as often as I'd eat it with milk for breakfast. (I, too, should
be in that honorary Seinfeld group!) Nowadays it's pretty much Cheerios,
Cheerios, and Cheerios (except when it's cold - I LOVE hot cereal: oatmeal,
cream of wheat, wheatena, farina, malt-o-meal).

Oh all this talk of cookie dough and cake dough wants me go get Ben and Jerry's
Chocolate Cookie Dough ice cream. Oh man, I could go for some now. It's mega
hot here in Buffalo.
Okay to get my mind off of the heat I have an idea. What are your top ten ice
cream flavors you like? It can be ones you liked as a kid or like now.

Here's mine:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (Ben & Jerry's is great)
Heavenly Hash
Chocolate Chocolate Fudge
Mint Choclate Chip
Chunky Monkey
Chocolate
Vanilla (yes, I love both Vanilla and Chocolate)
Maple Walnut
Coffee
Cherry Garcia (especially Chocolate Cherry Garcia oh that's totally awesome)

Oh that didn't help much. Now I really want some ice cream, but I'll have to
wait until tomorrow to go to the store. :(

As a kid I loved Thrifty's (it was a chain drug store with a really cheap ice
cream counter in front) brand Mint and Chip and Double Chocolate Malted Crunch.
Now I've "matured" and do the Ben & Jerry's (on sale at my store right now for
$2) Marble Mint Chunk,
Phish Food, Triple Caramel Chunk, the New York One and (especially) Bovinity
Divinity.
The ice cream I miss the most is the "Its It" sandwiches. I can't find them
anymore and they were so yummy. It was oatmeal cookies covered in chocolate
with ice cream inside.
That's not really ten but now you already know too much about my eating habits.

I can't believe I will actually admit to this... BUT isn't it the BEST when
you shove your finger in the frosting can and yank it out to lick? LOL I
haven't done that in years ... after a trip to the Ontario Science Centre
ruined all my fun with an exhibit on additives in food and all that. Just
the other day someone sent me an E mail saying that there are an average of
11 insect legs in every chocolate bar... I don't know if thats true but I
know I won't be eating those again... I have a wild and stupid imagination
so even though its likely not true, I'll imagine worse.. although once a
month, I likely won't give a damn LOL

Hmm...fave cereals. Well, this is slightly skewed by the fact that we
didn't get most of the cereals that you guys are listing off, here in
Nouvelle Ecosse (Nova Scotia, if you prefer latin <G>). No wonder the folks
in the grocery stores would think I was nuts when we'd go on vacation to
Maine.
"Oooh, look! They have *suchnsuch*!! I saw the commercial for that the
other day!!"

Anyway...here's my take (not in any particular order):

1. Honeycomb
2. Frosted Flakes
3. Frosted Mini Wheats (as a kid...as an adult, I can't stomach 'em!)
4. Cookie Crisp (from vacation <G>)
5. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (sugar overload!)
6. Apple Jacks (was Soooo happy when they made a re-appearance on store
shelves locally)
7. Crunch Berries
8. Quaker Harvest Crunch (straight outta the box, no need for milk here!)
9. Shreddies
10. Rice Krispies

There were others, but those are the first that come to mind.

Lessee...I haven't had ice cream in a while, but here's what comes to mind:

1) Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (for the cholesterally challenged)
2) Orange Sherbet (in a chocolate dipped waffle cone-heaven!)
3) Chocolate ... or most variations
4) Tiger (not the orange/black variety, the yellow/brown one)
5) Chocolate ... or most variations
6) Chocolate Chip
7) Vanilla soft serve (good if you want something light)
8) Chocolate soft serve (good if you want something light...and chocolate!)
9) Cherry Vanilla
10) Chocolate ... or most variations

Why, yes, I like chocolate, however did you guess? <G>

That reminds me of my sister and I when I was little. I had to be about 7 or so
and she was about 15. Does anyone remember the kind of frosting they had that
came in a box mix....before this ready made kind?? well, since we were always
just licking up little bits from the left over bowl, my sister came up with a
great idea....let's make a WHOLE bowl and just eat it!! We made it light green
and we sat and ate the whole thing...YUCK!
I couldn't look at that color for a LONG time...and I STILL don't like frosting
that much, anymore...

Heh, here in Canada, they're still "Sugar Smacks" and "Sugar Crisp". Guess
it's ok to acknowledge sugar here (but we don't have to list ingredients for
everything!). Heh, sorry, but it amazes me that Canadian food labels can
show you how to say "Polysorbate 80" in french, but we have NO idea what's
in most of our cosmetics. (and certain soft drink companies don't have to
list 'caffeine' as an ingredient, unless they actually add it, naturally
occuring caffeine doesn't count.....)

I'm a 42 year old man who still indulges in sweet cereals on a regular basis. Here's my favorites with a great link after the list:

1. Franken Berry - easily the best. The combination of strawberry cereal with marshmallows was incredible. Today's version of this classic pales in comparison.

2. Sir Grapefellow - Ahh yes. I used to love the purple milk.

3. Cap'n Crunch Vanilly Crunch - Who do I have to bribe to get this brought back?

4. Freakies - I loved looking at the box while eating the ultra-sweet cereal.

5. Count Chocula - For the same reasons that I loved Frankenberry. Today's version sucks.

6. Quisp - Little saucers just waiting to be chomped.

7. Apple Jacks - I remember when this one first arrived in my local store. I was nine...and in love.

8. Quangaroos - Cool commercials...cooler cereal.

9. Super Orange Crisp - I had a thing for fruity cereals.

10. Sugar Pops - The politically incorrect version...and still classic.

<<I'm a 42 year old man who still indulges in sweet cereals on a regular

<<1. Franken Berry - easily the best. The combination of strawberry cereal

I liked Franken Berry as a kid, but haven't eaten any in at least fifteen
years, so I haven't had the new formula.

<<2. Sir Grapefellow - Ahh yes. I used to love the purple milk.>>

Kaboom also used to turn milk purple, Kaboom was good in the early 1970's
then they changed versions, and the new version was a pale imitation of its
predecessor.
I only had Sir Grapefellow once or twice, ditto Baron von Redberry its
companion cereal.

<<3. Cap'n Crunch Vanilly Crunch - Who do I have to bribe to get this
brought back?>>

I loved this cereal also, IIRC, it was similiar in shape to the peanut
butter Cap'n Crunch. The white whale on the box was named Wima or Linda, I
don't remember.

<<4. Freakies - I loved looking at the box while eating the ultra-sweet
cereal.>>

Freakies tasted similiar to King Vitamin, I believe both were Ralston
Purina products.

<<5. Count Chocula - For the same reasons that I loved Frankenberry.
Today's version sucks.>>

I liked Count Chocula, but, as with Franken Berry, I haven't eaten it for at
least fifteen years.

<<6. Quisp - Little saucers just waiting to be chomped.>>

I liked Quisp and Quake, and Quangaroos, too bad the latter two aren't
made any more, and the former isn't available in my area.

<<7. Apple Jacks - I remember when this one first arrived in my local
store. I was nine...and in love.>>

I was a big fan of Apple Jacks, and have actually consumed some in the
past year.

<<8. Quangaroos - Cool commercials...cooler cereal.>>

The three Q cereals, Quisp, Quake, and Quangaroos.

<<9. Super Orange Crisp - I had a thing for fruity cereals.>>

You must be the other person who liked them. Everyone I know hated them
and felt they were sickly sweet.

<<10. Sugar Pops - The politically incorrect version...and still classic.>>

They obviously cointain sugar, why bother attempting to hide it. Super
Sugar Smacks, and Super Sugar Crisp, the same cereal made by different
companies, also dropped the word "sugar' from their names.

My other favorites included:

Fruit Bute (Fruti Bruti)
Yummy Mummy (essentially the same cereal)
Rice Krinkles (made by post,IIRC)
Vanilla Cookie Crisp (following the demise of Vanilly Crunch, this was the
first vanilla flavored cereal to be introduced)
Trix (original version)
Fruity Pebbles (original version)
Honey Comb
Cocoa Krispies
Frosted Rice (may have been the early 80's, featured Tony Jr. on the box)
Frosted Flakes
Frosted Mini-Wheats

In the 1970s, when I was a little lass in pigtails and knee socks, these
were my fave breakfast items

CEREALS
Pink Panther Flakes
Great Honey Crunchers
Lucky Charms
Chex
Granola
Super Sugar Crisp
Raisin Bran
Rice Krispies
Frosted Flakes
Alpha Bits
Honeycomb
Life
Cinnamon Toast Crunch (Although this was from my 80s teenhood, not my 70s
childhood!)

OTHER GOODIES
Breakfast Squares
Frosted Pop Tarts
Danish Go Rounds (strawberry was best!)
Pillsbury Food Sticks
Carnation Instant Breakfast (Yes, the beverage. It was supposed to be a
nutritional enhancer. They still make it, but I remember it being sweeter when
I was a young'un. Is Carnation making it different or is it my taste buds?)

BTW, i ate (and still eat) most cold cereals straight up, no milk.

i always remember when my family used to go camping when i was younger,
and my mom would buy us those little tiny individual serving boxes of
cereal in packages of about 12 or so. i'd eat all the best ones, like
sugar corn pops, etc and leave all the sucky ones like bran flakes for
my sister...LOL. and when they'd buy one of these packages in the
states, there would be the coolest cereals, like things we didn't get up
here at the time, like fruity/cocoa pebbles, etc! that was awesome!!!
it's funny though, i pretty much grew up on cap'n crunch and pac man
cereal, etc, and now i have absolutely no tolerance for sugary cereals,
strange!! LOL also i remember when we would be in the states and i
would get to have cookie crisp, and my mom said it looked like dog food,
and that didn't even faze me...LOL!
have a great day guys!
