There was Red Barn in the upper midwest, too.

Yes, the Burger Chef logo was a chef's hat in later years. The chain was
bought out by Hardee's in the 80's. Most stores switched over to the
Hardee's brand right away, but they had the option of remaining Burger Chef
for quite some time. We had a Burger Chef locally until about 5 years ago,
when they were finally forced to give up the name.
