No. You're not going crazy...yet. <insert evil laughter here>
Seriously, the little guy you're talking about was Timer. It wasn't part of
Schoolhouse Rock. He did the cheese thingy, and also some other spots about
what kids could do to eat right snack-wise.

I believe his name was Timer, or something like that. (Remember he
always began his spiel with, "Time for Timer!") I can still remember
part of his cheese song:
I hanker for a hunk of--
A slab, a slice, a chunk of--
I hanker for a hunk of--
Cheese!

Ahhh the good ol' days...

I wonder what he "hankers" for now that we all know that dairy products
will kill you? "I hanker for a hunk of fat-free imitation cheese like
substance." Just doesn't have the same ring to it.

Tom,
Stuck in the '70's
The cheese one, brushing your teeth and one about eating fruit. I
actually found a couple of animation cells from the eating fruit one at a
toy-show recently. I also picked up a FANTASTIC cell of Faith & Hope &
Charity from 3 is a Magic Number at the same show.
When My 10 Gallon Hat is feeling 5 gallons flat- I hanker for a hunk of
CHEESE!
That reminds me of something they used to do called POP UP, which I
think was either on ABC or NBC in the early 70s on saturdays. It was
some sort of spelling game, where they would move letters around. It
was just about a minute or so long each time. I wonder if I'm the
only person who remembers becuase no one I know does!

I remember the the guy's name was "Timer".. I can distinctly remember him
saying "Hey kids... Time for timer." Why? I dunno.
Kegger
?His name was Timer- he came from the ABC Afterschool Special where a 12
?year old (or so) boy's mom is pregnant and he learns all about the body>
?its something like "the incredible human journey" I just cant conjure up
?the title. In the show, Timer tells the kid and his friends all about
?what's going on in mom's body. I believe it won a daytime Emmy. The
?character of Timer was extracted from the show & appered in a number of
?Sat AM PSA's.

YAAHOOOO!!
Oh, man you forgot the Yahoo! at the end of the quote! This was one of my
favorites, even though I don't really like cheese very much. Go figure.
