How many people here knew that Judy Norton-Taylor (Mary Ellen of the
Waltons) posed nude for Playboy magazine in the 80s?

I never knew... until my brother recently purchased the 10/85 issue of
Australian Playboy!

My question is- what did she accomplish by doing it?

She accomplished nothing but hurting her career.

But she is far from the only female suckered into thinking that posing
for Playboy or Penthouse will help them in the long run. Ask Darva Conger
or Farrah if posing helped them like that thought it would. Sure, they get
a large check and can spend a month on the talk show circuit and Howard
Stern type shows but the attention fades fast.

She was trying to shed her "girl next door" image acquired from being on the Waltons. Mission accomplished.
