Remember this commercial?
From the Mickey Mouse gumball machine that was in the shape of Mickey
Mouse's head?
Diva...@aol.com
And "Thanks for the gumball, Popeye!" I say that often when thanking
someone, usually to blank stares :)

"Penny for a gumball Mickey. Thanks for the gumball!"
"Penny for a gumball Popeye. Thanks for the gumball!"
We still quote this commercial too. My sister had a Donald Duck and I
had a Mickey Mouse (gumball bank). I quickly learned how to bend a
paper clip and get "free" gumballs from her Donald bank ( I had eaten
all of my own and spent all of my money). "Thanks for the gumball!!!"

Does this work with the gumball machines at the supermaket, too?

One of my sisters at one time was making fun of one of my other sisters
because she squinted at her, so she pretended to put a penny in her eye
and said "Penny for a gumball Popeye. Thanks for the gumball!"

This would be the thing where NutraSweet was just coming out, and they
sent 5 free gumballs to anyone who requested, so that they could see
how it tasted....am I right?
