Anyway, what were some of the other more interesting celebrity marriages,
or couples, of the 70s? Burt Reynolds and Dinah Shore come to mind. So does
Rock Hudson and Jim Neighbors, although that was merely a rumour.

Here's one: Shirley Jones and Marty Ingels, who (despite having separated at
one point) are stll together. And didn't Sammy Davis Jr. date Anita Ekberg for
awhile, or was that the '60s?

He was married(?) to a very white, very blonde woman named Mae Britt. This
may be what you are thinking of. Certain of his friends felt a lot of heat
due to this and word was sent down to him that he needed to break up with
this woman to #1 keep his career, and #2 to keep his life. The message came
to him from the Mafia. This story was told by several stool pigeons in the
early '60s.

No, but as Tom pointed out in his post, they were most definitely a hot item...

You know, now that I think of it, I remember I once had a Peter Wolf sighting
in the Italian North End of Boston. This was back in the late 70s, and it
was during some very festive street fair at night; I think he was eating
a calzone at the time. He's a tall drink of water, for sure, and thus really
stood out in a crowd.
On the subject of rock marriages/couplings of the 70s, there are a number
who come to mind. There was David Bowie and Angela Bowie, who were a couple
at the time that David announced to the press that they were both bi; at
around the same time, Mick Jagger wrote the song "Angie," so apparently there
was something going on between them; yet, years later, Angie claimed she
came home one day and found Mick and David in bed together.
Also, and I think they have been mentioned, James Taylor and Carly Simon,
who sounded really good singing together.
There was also Steven Tyler and Bebe Buell (the mother of Liv); she and Todd
Rundgren were together at one point; I think she might have left him for
Steven Tyler, not unlike the way Patti Harrison left George for Eric Clapton
(and the way Cher left Gregg Allman for Gene Simmons (or was it that young
pizza maker), who then dumped Cher to be with Diana Ross (or was it the other
way around), and not unlike the way Anita Pallenberg left Brian Jones for
Keith Richard. Then of course there are the various marriages around which
Fleetwood Mac were organized. And didn't one of the Eagles briefly go out
with Ronald Reagan's daughter Patti? Also, Kate McGarrigle of the singing
McGarrigle sisters was married to Loudon Wainwright, and they sired Rufus,
whose a pretty good musician in his own right.
In punk/new wave, Patti Smith and Robert Maplethorpe were an item, but then
he decided to just be with guys, and she moved on to Sam Sheppard, Tom Verlaine,
and Fred Smith of the MC5 (they married). Deborah Harry and Iggy Pop apparently
had a fling, as did, apparently, Patti Smith and Paul Simonon of The Clash.
Everyone knows about Sid and Nancy, though apparently Sid was bi, as were
various members of The Damned and other punk bands. Boy George and the Culture
Club drummer were an item, but their breakup also lead to Culture Club's
breakup. Nick Lowe married Carlene Carter, daughter of Johnny Cash and June
Carter.
Does anyone know if Peaches and Herb ("Reunited") were a couple?
Oh, didn't know that. I guess I was referring to the one who sang on the
recording of "Reunited." I wonder which "Peaches" she was?

Buddy, there is a way to fix that. You can get one of those $20 A/V selector
that can input as many as 4 (I think some even has 6!) sources. I use this
selector for my videogames since I have about 3 video game systems and these
work very well!
So...no more excuses to get cable :-)
My VCR even has 2 inputs for anything (videogame or another VCR)!
