Did Prohibition (1920-1933) Contribute To The Great Depression?

I am exploring the thesis that there is a direct causal economic link
between the banning of legal manufacture and sale of alcohol(i.e.
"Prohibition") and the subsequent (1929 Stock market crash) Great
Depression. If not a primary cause, was Prohibition a major contributing
factor?
