On October 18, 2005, Dan Nystedt of IDG News Service reported from
Taipei that Taiwan government plans to make Taiwan the world's largest
testing ground for WiMax after inking a deal with Intel.

The government will provide about US$209 million in funding, and next
year an additional US$32.8 million will be added, while Intel is
expected to provide its technical resources.
In spite of the strong statement of support, the plan appears to still
be in its infancy.
