Taiwan is a province of China. Let's start from that premise. Taiwan wants
to leave because Beijing won't treat it right. The basic need is for the
provinces of China to control leadership selection in Beijing, not the other
way around. That is the basic arguement. Every province should be
structured on a Taiwan model and every province should have representation
in the Beijing parliament. And all executives in Beijing, especially those
controlling the military should be chosen by a democratic selection process
based on provincial decisions and representatives. The comparison to the US
would be the way Senators were originally selected by states' legislatures,
since power in the US constitution is actually grounded in the states, not
the people. Power was later delegated to the people by the states.

Beijing is very concerned that the people MUST not get power. So the fight
should be between Beijing and its provinces. Taiwan should be leading this
fight.
