Création du 'Collectif Watanouna' pour la libération des Marocains
séquestrés à Tindouf
Le "collectif Watanouna" pour la libération des Marocains séquestrés à
Tindouf a été créé le 20 courant avec pour objectifs notamment de
sensibiliser l'opinion publique à la cause de "nos concitoyens séquestrés à
Tindouf" et d'attirer "l'attention de l'opinion internationale sur les
violations des droits de l'Homme".
Ce collectif, crée à l'initiative de personnalités provenant du milieu
associatif et d'horizons divers, vise, en outre, à "dénoncer
l'asservissement des familles, des femmes et des enfants dans les camps de
la honte, contrairement aux conventions et droits internationaux", lit-on
dans un communiqué parvenu samedi à la MAP.
Le collectif, présidé par Mme Naïma Elmcherqui et qui a pour slogan "Tous
pour la libération des Marocains séquestrés à Tindouf", invite à cet égard,
"toutes les instances internationales à intervenir pour mettre fin au
calvaire des familles, des enfants séparés de leurs mères et à libérer tous
les Marocains séquestrés à Tindouf afin qu'ils retrouvent leur mère patrie".
Le 6 mars prochain, le "Collectif Watanouna" compte organiser, à l'occasion
de la journée internationale de la femme (8 mars), une marche nationale à
Rabat pour exprimer la solidarité et le soutien de tout le peuple marocain
avec leurs concitoyens séquestrés à Tindouf et pour appeler à leur
libération immédiate et sans condition", ajoute le communiqué.

«provinces sahariennes», l'ONU s'est fixé jusqu'au 30 novembre prochain pour
tenter de jeter les bases d'une solution négociée entre Rabat et Alger

La ligne qui sépare les Marocains et le Front Polisario: un remblai doublé
de barbelés et truffé de mines.
A perte de vue, un désert de caillasse ocre. Un remblai de plusieurs mètres
de hauteur, hérissé de points d'appui militaires, qui serpente à l'infini.
Puis un autre, parallèle au premier, et un troisième encore, dans lesquels
ont été creusées des tranchées, aménagées des chambrées. Le poste
d'observation de Fririnet est situé à une quarantaine de kilomètres de la
ville de Smara, tout près de la frontière mauritanienne. Quelques dizaines
de militaires marocains y scrutent en permanence le désert. Au total, ils
sont des milliers ainsi postés tout le long de la grande muraille
saharienne. Depuis près de vingt ans. Commencée en 1983 et achevée en 1987,
cette fortification du désert, doublée de barbelés et truffée de mines,
s'étend sur quelque 2 000 kilomètres, de l'extrême nord du Sahara
occidental, à l'ouest de la ville algérienne de Tindouf, jusqu'à Guerguerat,
au bord de l'océan Atlantique, près de la frontière mauritanienne.
Une faible aide internationale
Depuis 1991, la «guerre des sables» est gelée et l'ONU surveille le
cessez-le-feu. Le conflit, pour autant, n'est pas réglé. Le Maroc, qui
revendique le territoire, contrôle toute la région située entre sa ligne de
défense et l'océan: 80% de la superficie totale, toutes les agglomérations,
et les phosphates de Bou Craa. Il y aménage les villes, y construit des
ports et des routes, y installe de nouvelles populations. De l'autre côté,
les combattants du Front Polisario, qui réclame l'indépendance, campent
toujours dans le désert. Tandis qu'à Tindouf quelque 160 000 réfugiés,
largement dépendants d'une aide internationale qui se fait de plus en plus
chiche, attendent depuis un quart de siècle. Poul Nielson, commissaire
européen à la Politique de développement et d'aide humanitaire, soulignait
le mois dernier que l'Union européenne était, avec une contribution de 15
millions d'euros pour 2001, «l'un des rares donateurs de l'une des crises
les plus oubliées».
Si l'on excepte quelques microterritoires, le Sahara occidental est, depuis
qu'un accord a été signé sur la Nouvelle-Calédonie, le dernier dossier
encore inscrit sur les tablettes de la Commission de décolonisation de
l'ONU. En juin dernier, le Conseil de sécurité a décidé de mettre en
veilleuse l'organisation d'un référendum, sans cesse repoussé, et
d'encourager des négociations visant à doter le territoire d'un statut
d'autonomie. Le représentant spécial du secrétaire général des Nations
unies, James Baker, qui aura d'ici là rencontré à plusieurs reprises toutes
les parties, doit décider avant le 30 novembre si les chances d'aboutir sont
suffisamment sérieuses pour continuer à explorer cette voie, ou s'il jette
l'éponge.

Novembre 1975: tandis que les derniers soldats espagnols plient bagage,
quelque 350 000 Marocains, armés du Coran et brandissant le portrait de leur
roi, envahissent ce qui est encore le Rio de Oro. Objectif de cette «marche
verte»: forger l'union sacrée autour de la «libération des provinces
sahariennes». C'est un coup de maître. Hassan II obtient le ralliement de la
gauche marocaine - à l'exception du groupuscule marxiste d'Abraham Serfaty.
Quatre ans après l'attentat de Skirat, le ciment nationaliste va lui
permettre de stabiliser durablement son trône. Sa légitimité ne sera plus
contestée. D'autant que l'armée a désormais une raison d'être... et de quoi
s'occuper.
L'Algérie, elle, ne peut accepter de voir son voisin et rival agrandir
ainsi, du jour au lendemain, sa superficie. Le président algérien de
l'époque, Houari Boumediene, est en outre persuadé d'incarner une nouvelle
légitimité, tiers-mondiste et révolutionnaire. Il offre donc son aide au
Front Polisario, créé deux ans plus tôt. Celui-ci établit son quartier
général à Tindouf. Surfant sur la vague du conflit Est-Ouest, il proclame en
1976 la République arabe démocratique sahraouie (RASD), qui sera reconnue
par plus de 70 Etats. Mais aucune puissance occidentale ne suit le
mouvement. Pendant ce temps, le Maroc, qui a donné du bout des lèvres, en
1981, son accord de principe pour l'organisation d'un référendum, occupe le
terrain et construit sa grande muraille.
Après les accords de cessez-le-feu de 1991, la Mission des Nations unies
pour l'organisation d'un référendum au Sahara occidental (Minurso) installe
son quartier général à Laâyoune. Son mandat: surveiller la trêve et inscrire
les futurs électeurs qui participeront au référendum.
«Une mission finalement assez peu coûteuse pour l'ONU»
Il n'a pas changé depuis dix ans. Les Nations unies ont, sans broncher,
chaque fois reconduit une mission qui coûte finalement assez peu cher - 50
millions de dollars par an, dix fois moins que les opérations en Sierra
Leone ou à Timor. La Minurso compte au total un peu plus de 400 personnes,
dont 250 militaires chargés de l'observation du cessez-le-feu. Une dizaine
de postes d'observation répartis sur l'ensemble du territoire servent de
point de départ aux patrouilles, presque quotidiennes, des Bérets bleus. De
grosses tentes modulaires qui abritent chambrées et bureaux, des conteneurs
pour l'eau, un groupe électrogène, une flotte de véhicules tout-terrain:
dans ce poste du secteur nord, près de Smara, ils sont une quarantaine à
camper dans le désert. Et à le parcourir: «22 000 kilomètres par mois»,
précise l'officier russe qui commande le poste en second. Il s'agit surtout
de vérifier que les unités militaires des deux parties, postées de part et
d'autre de la ligne de cessez-le-feu, respectent les accords. Car il n'y a
pas eu, depuis 1991, un seul échange de coups de feu.
L'autre tâche qui avait été assignée à la Minurso - établir la liste des
électeurs autorisés à voter lors du référendum prévu dans les accords de
1991 - va se révéler bien plus difficile. Très vite, il apparaît que ni le
Maroc ni le Polisario n'accepteront un référendum qu'ils risqueraient de
perdre. Et que la composition du corps électoral sera déterminante.
Certaines tribus sont favorables au Maroc, d'autres au Polisario. Le
recensement espagnol de 1974, censé servir de base au processus
d'identification, dénombrait 74 000 Sahraouis. Or, il y avait parmi eux une
majorité de Reguebat, une tribu traditionnellement rebelle dont la plupart
des chioukh ont rejoint le Polisario. Inacceptable pour le Maroc, qui tente
de faire admettre des familles qui avaient quitté le territoire avant le
recensement espagnol, puis les membres d'autres tribus installées dans le
sud du royaume. La Minurso, qui finit par boucler sa liste à la fin de 1999,
ne retient qu'un peu plus de 86 400 électeurs. Rabat, qui estime leur nombre
à quelque 220 000, encourage les candidats malheureux à déposer un recours.
Plus de 130 000 appels seront enregistrés. Mais, depuis l'an dernier, tout
est bloqué, car le Maroc et le Polisario ne sont pas d'accord sur la façon
de traiter ces recours. Alors, en attendant, dans les anciennes salles de
classe qui leur servent du bureau, les quelque 80 employés de la Commission
d'identification consacrent l'essentiel de leur temps à des tâches
d'archivage informatique.
Le problème de fond est évidemment politique: les Marocains ont le
sentiment - partagé par les spécialistes - que le corps électoral retenu par
l'ONU favorise plutôt les indépendantistes. Ou, en tout cas, qu'il ne leur
garantit pas la victoire escomptée. L'exemple de Timor- Oriental, où les
Nations unies ont organisé un référendum qui a débouché sur l'indépendance
de cette ancienne colonie portugaise en dépit des prétentions de
l'Indonésie, attise les craintes.
«James Baker va se faire l'avocat
d'une solution négociée»
Et pas seulement au Maroc. Depuis quelques années déjà, à Paris comme à
Washington - les deux capitales qui suivent de près le dossier - on
s'interroge sur les risques d'instabilité au lendemain d'un référendum dont
le perdant contesterait aussitôt le résultat. Une inquiétude renforcée par
des estimations qui permettent de penser que le référendum pourrait être
défavorable au Maroc. D'où l'idée d'encourager, plutôt, une solution
négociée, acceptée par les deux parties. Nommé en 1996 par le secrétaire
général de l'ONU pour redonner une impulsion au processus de paix enlisé
dans les sables du Sahara, l'ancien secrétaire d'Etat américain James Baker
va très vite se faire l'avocat de cette solution.
Le Polisario a sans doute pris avec un train de retard le mouvement de la
décolonisation: si le droit des peuples à disposer d'eux-mêmes reste inscrit
au fronton des Nations unies, les grandes puissances cherchent plutôt
aujourd'hui à décourager la multiplication d'Etats pas forcément viables, ou
stables. Et, de toute évidence, ni Washington ni Paris n'ont envie de
favoriser au Sahara occidental la naissance d'un Etat sahraoui trop faible
pour se passer de la tutelle algérienne et de l'aide internationale.
James Baker annonce la couleur - un Sahara autonome sous souveraineté
marocaine - dès sa première rencontre avec le roi Hassan II, en 1997. Ce
dernier n'avait-il pas lui-même affirmé, quelques années plus tôt, que tout
était négociable «hors le timbre et le drapeau»? Mais le souverain chérifien
lui oppose une fin de non-recevoir. Il veut un référendum «confirmatif»
permettant au Maroc d'intégrer ses «provinces sahariennes». Et il reste
convaincu que l'ONU finira par accepter d'élargir le corps électoral. Les
autorités marocaines - notamment Driss Basri, alors tout-puissant ministre
de l'Intérieur - mettent aussi en avant, pour justifier leur refus, les
risques de voir d'autres régions - le Rif, notamment - s'engouffrer dans la
brèche.
Une «troisième voie»
Mohammed VI va, d'entrée de jeu, se montrer plus réceptif. Dès ses premiers
entretiens, fin 1999, avec Madeleine Albright, alors secrétaire d'Etat, puis
avec James Baker, comme avec les Français, il laisse entendre qu'il n'est
pas opposé à la recherche, au Sahara occidental, d'une «troisième voie» qui
impliquerait que le territoire soit doté, dans le cadre de la souveraineté
marocaine, d'un statut spécial. Il veut cependant prendre son temps,
notamment pour préparer une classe politique qui, dans le passé, s'est
souvent montrée, sur ce dossier, plus jusqu'au-boutiste que la monarchie.
Une fois Driss Basri écarté, le jeune roi met en place son propre dispositif
pour l'aider à gérer un dossier dont il fait son domaine réservé: à Rabat,
les secrétaires d'Etat à l'Intérieur, Fouad Ali el-Himma, et aux Affaires
étrangères, Taieb Fassi Fihri; à New York, le représentant marocain aux
Nations unies, Mohamed Bennouna, qui lui rend personnellement compte de
l'état d'avancement des négociations; sur place à Laâyoune, un nouveau wali
(préfet), en la personne d'Abdelatif Guerraoui, un ancien responsable de
l'Office chérifien des phosphates, puis un nouveau coordinateur auprès de la
Minurso, Hamid Chabar, un universitaire proche du secrétaire d'Etat à
l'Intérieur.
En juin 2001, le Maroc approuve officiellement «dans son principe»
l'accord-cadre adopté par le Conseil de sécurité à partir des propositions
élaborées par James Baker. «Dans un pays où le ministère de l'Intérieur
exerce depuis toujours un contrôle absolu, à travers les gouverneurs, sur la
gestion des provinces, c'est une véritable révolution culturelle», commente
un observateur. D'autant que l'on prête au roi le projet, ou l'envie, de
faire du Sahara le laboratoire d'une vraie politique de régionalisation.
Le Polisario devrait avoir un rôle prédominant dans la gestion de
l'autonomie
Le texte organise à la fois l'autonomie du territoire et la souveraineté
marocaine. Il donne au Maroc une compétence «exclusive» sur les relations
extérieures, la sécurité nationale, la défense et la «préservation de
l'intégrité territoriale», ainsi que sur la monnaie, les douanes, les postes
et télécommunications, le reste relevant des autorités locales élues. Une
fois mis en place, le système sera ratifié par référendum «dans les cinq
ans». Le dispositif Baker est parfaitement verrouillé en ce qui concerne la
souveraineté marocaine: l'assemblée locale sera élue par les habitants du
territoire qui y résident depuis octobre 1998 - donc une majorité de
Marocains - et tous ceux qui auront un an au moins de résidence pourront par
la suite participer au référendum. En revanche, le Polisario devrait avoir
un rôle prédominant dans la gestion de l'autonomie: le premier exécutif du
territoire sera, en effet, élu par les 86 400 électeurs actuellement retenus
par la Minurso, ce qui devrait en principe profiter aux indépendantistes. A
supposer évidemment qu'ils acceptent ce schéma.
Or on en est loin. Et, lorsque Mohammed VI affirme (Le Figaro du 4
septembre) avoir «réglé la question du Sahara», il va un peu vite en
besogne. Pour l'heure, ni l'Algérie ni le Polisario n'ont approuvé le plan
Baker. Pour le Polisario, le référendum d'autodétermination reste la seule
solution acceptable. L'Algérie, elle, ne refuse pas de discuter d'une
«solution politique», mais récuse le projet proposé.
La négociation qui s'amorce peut-elle aboutir à un accord entre Rabat et
Alger - que le Polisario, en perte de vitesse diplomatique depuis la fin de
la guerre froide, n'aurait alors guère les moyens de refuser? Quelles
seraient dans ce cas les contreparties exigées par l'Algérie, sachant que
l'on voit mal les dirigeants de ce pays accepter une paix qui avantagerait
manifestement le Maroc? Telles sont les questions que l'on se pose
aujourd'hui dans les chancelleries. Vu d'Algérie, cependant, le rejet est
sans appel. D'autant que dans ce pays le dossier du Sahara occidental relève
du «domaine réservé» de la haute hiérarchie militaire, peu encline au
compromis. Le président Mohamed Boudiaf, arrivé à la tête de l'Etat algérien
en 1992 après une vingtaine d'années d'exil au Maroc, l'avait appris à ses
dépens lorsqu'il avait voulu amorcer une négociation directe avec Hassan II.
Abdelaziz Bouteflika n'a pas commis la même imprudence.
A Laâyoune, tout le monde ou presque souhaite voir le problème enfin réglé.
Les avis sont cependant partagés sur la «solution Baker». «Non seulement
l'autonomie est possible, mais elle est nécessaire», insiste Nema Mayara, le
jeune vice- président de la région de Laâyoune et Boujdour. «C'est, ajoute
cet élu sahraoui, la meilleure solution, parce qu'elle est sans vainqueur ni
vaincu et qu'ainsi personne ne perdra la face.» Un point de vue que défend
aussi Ahmed Kheir. Cet ancien membre du Polisario est un «rallié», revenu à
Laâyoune en 1995 - quelque 6 000 familles sont dans ce cas - après vingt ans
d'exil dans les camps de Tindouf. «L'indépendance, affirme-t-il, ce serait
l'hégémonie algérienne. La solution Baker est la meilleure pour tout le
monde. Elle donne une chance aux réfugiés de Tindouf de pouvoir rentrer et
elle prend en compte la réalité marocaine.»
«L'ONU aurait dû imposer le référendum. L'autonomie ne réglera pas le
problème»
Les militants du Forum pour la vérité et la justice sont loin de partager
cet enthousiasme. Cela fait un an que cette association, qui plaide pour le
devoir de mémoire, a ouvert une section à Laâyoune, en dépit des réticences
manifestées par les autorités locales. Au mur, des photos de disparus et de
prisonniers morts en détention, ainsi que celles, plus récentes, de jeunes
protestataires arrêtés lors des émeutes de septembre 1999. Aujourd'hui, les
détenus des années de plomb ont pour la plupart été libérés et indemnisés.
Seul reste Mohamed Daddach, un militant du Polisario arrêté en 1979. Plus
une vingtaine de manifestants de 1999. Mais le dossier des disparus demeure
entier. Ils sont plusieurs dizaines à avoir été enlevés entre le milieu des
années 1980 et le début des années 1990, dont on ne sait toujours rien, sans
qu'aucune explication officielle n'ait jamais été fournie. «Nous avons une
liste de 85 noms. Elle n'est pas exhaustive. Il s'agit uniquement de ceux
pour lesquels nous connaissons la date et les conditions de l'enlèvement»,
précise le président de la section, Houssine Moutik. «Ici, ajoute-t-il,
beaucoup de familles ont un prisonnier, ou un disparu, parmi leurs membres.
Cette politique de terreur a dressé la population contre le Maroc.» «Quand
les gens peuvent s'exprimer, ils se disent pour l'indépendance. C'est
pourquoi le Maroc refuse le référendum, affirme un autre militant, qui
assiste à l'entretien. Il faut que le peuple sahraoui puisse exercer son
droit à l'autodétermination.» Une opinion partagée par un étudiant qui avait
pris il y a deux ans une part active dans les manifestations: «Il faut que
la population soit consultée. L'ONU nous a déçus, car elle n'a pas tenu ses
promesses. Elle aurait dû imposer le référendum. L'autonomie ne réglera pas
le problème.» Ce discours contestataire ne l'empêche cependant pas de
revendiquer, sa maîtrise de sociologie en poche, et comme tous les «chômeurs
diplômés» du royaume, son «droit à l'emploi»... dans la fonction publique.
Incontestablement, les autorités marocaines «paient» une conception trop
policière de la gestion du territoire. «Le Maroc a cherché à récupérer le
territoire, mais pas les êtres humains. Sa gestion n'a été que sécuritaire»,
déplore un militant de l'OADP (Organisation arabe démocratique et
populaire), un petit parti de gauche dont la section locale rassemble à la
fois des Marocains du Nord installés à Laâyoune et des Sahraouis. Pour
autant, l'insatisfaction ne débouche pas systématiquement sur une
revendication indépendantiste.
Le malaise qui s'est exprimé à travers les émeutes de 1999 était d'abord
social. «C'était une révolte à la fois contre les notables locaux,
chouchoutés par Rabat, le système qui privilégie les gens du Nord, les
autorités», analyse le même militant de l'OADP. L'étincelle qui avait mis le
feu aux poudres était une revendication estudiantine concernant la gratuité
des transports. «Nous allons pratiquer davantage le dialogue et la
concertation», promet aujourd'hui Hamid Chabar, le tout nouveau gouverneur
marocain chargé de la coordination avec la Minurso.
Rancour et jalousie
Outre la répression policière, l'afflux de Marocains venus des différentes
régions du royaume a suscité, chez beaucoup de Sahraouis, rancour et
jalousie. Certes, le territoire a connu un développement spectaculaire.
Laâyoune grignote le désert, d'année en année, au fur et à mesure que se
construisent de nouvelles cités. Près de 30% du budget marocain de l'habitat
sont aujourd'hui encore consacrés aux «provinces sahariennes». Sans parler
des bâtiments officiels et des infrastructures: une usine de retraitement de
l'eau de mer qui couvre aujourd'hui 40% des besoins, des routes, un port
devenu le premier port sardinier du Maroc. Cependant, la plupart des emplois
ainsi créés vont à des non-Sahraouis, qu'il s'agisse de la construction, de
la pêche, des activités portuaires ou des petites industries. Il en va de
même des artisans et commerçants, fortement incités à venir s'installer ici
grâce à des conditions fiscales favorables. Les autorités locales répondent
que c'est inévitable, car il s'agit d'un personnel «plus qualifié». Mais,
aujourd'hui, au Sahara, les Sahraouis sont devenus minoritaires.
En cas de règlement, le territoire devrait cependant accueillir les réfugiés
de Tindouf. Et le Maroc s'y prépare. Peinte entièrement en rose, la toute
dernière cité construite à Laâyoune leur est destinée: 2 000 appartements de
plain-pied, avec eau courante et électricité, donnant chacun sur une
courette. Pour l'heure, une cité fantôme où l'on ne croise que quelques
chiens. Tandis qu'à Tindouf, las d'attendre, ils sont de plus en plus
nombreux à quitter leur camp de toile pour la Mauritanie ou les îles
Canaries. Tout en gardant l'espoir de pouvoir, un jour, rentrer sans «perdre
la face».

en l975 en faveur du proprietaire legitime du Sahara qui possede
toujours le titre foncier de cette propriete.

Pro-government press mounts campaign to smear journalist Ali Lmrabet

A campaign by at least a dozen pro-government news media in Morocco to
disparage journalist Ali Lmrabet and accuse him of "treason" as regards
its claim to Western Sahara is raising concerns for his safety,
Reporters Without Borders warned today.
The smear campaign is focussing on a report about Polisario Front
prisoners of war which Lmrabet wrote for the Spanish daily El Mundo in
November and an interview with Polisario leader Mohamed Abdelaziz that
appeared in the Arabic-language weekly Al Moustakil in January.
It has come just two weeks after the authorities blocked Lmrabet's
request for a permit to launch a new weekly newspaper.
"Such a campaign has never been seen before in the Arabic- and
French-language media," Reporters Without Borders said. Moroccan readers
and viewers are being presented with one statement after another by
pro-Moroccan Sahrawi groups without ever getting the viewpoint of the
person concerned.
The press freedom organization added : "Lmrabet is being attacked just
for doing his job as an investigative journalist and, apparently, for
interviewing the Polisario chief. He did the interview and transcribed
what he heard. Everyone should be free to express their viewpoint
without having to fear being called a traitor."
Several human rights organizations from the southern provinces staged a
sit-in outside parliament, the communication ministry and the Moroccan
Human Rights Association (AMDH) in Rabat on 3 February to take issue
with Lmrabet for saying the Sahrawi population in Tindouf (in Algeria)
enjoys freedom of movement. The police did not stop the protest although
they have violently dispersed anyone else trying to demonstrate outside
parliament for the past five years.
In the course of a week, at least 10 daily newspapers have used the
headline "Ali Lmrabet's treason" on their front page with his photo.
Reports about the sit-in were carried by the 2M and RTM television
stations. A total of 11 minutes of the evening news programmes on 3
February were given over to the sit-in.
Moroccan Sahara association president Réda Taoujni, who did not take
part in the sit-in, told Reporters Without Borders : "We are disgusted
by this unseemly affaire. If they want to settle personal scores with
Ali Lmrabet, they should leave Western Sahara out of it. Ali Lmrabet is
a fervent defender of the principle that the Sahara is Moroccan."
The winner of the 2003 Reporters Without Borders - Fondation de France
Prize, Lmrabet said : You will never find anything written by me
expressing anything other than the view I have always defended, namely a
Moroccan Sahara that is not attached to us by force or by money, but by
human rights, solidarity, freedom and justice."
Lmrabet added : "I am for the self-determination referendum, the Baker
Plan and, on principle, the inalienable right of people's to determine
their own fate. This entire operation against me has been mounted by the
interior ministry in order to prevent me from relaunching my newspaper,
to prevent me from expressing my views about everything to do with
public life in my country."

I wrote the letter following "Jew Boy..." the day a single
complaint arrived to the radio station, with the threat that
the ADL would soon be contacted. The letter was provided in
advance of the next day, of the time scheduled for the
complainant to return for a recording of the questionable
broadcast. The station manager refused to give the complainant
my letter, and insured me that I would no longer be allowed to
produce a show for our community. Is this fair to our Jewish
brothers and sisters? Is this fair to You?

Monday, January 31st, around 3 pm, I called the station manager
to ask how my afternoon recorded broadcast went, and to discuss
the new week's tentative guest spot with an update regarding
the falsely maligned, Mr. And Mrs. Benderman. The station
manager informed me my phone number had been misplaced, and was
managing with stress trying to put together an apology letter
to a single individual, who came into the station, while the
interview was still running, to demand action be taken
regarding the anti-Semitic broadcast that he was certainly
going to report to the ADL about. I told her the Felton
interview itself was about bigotry through the demonization of
the innocent, what the Jews of world war II suffered through,
and, that I was a huge defender of religious Jewish teaching.
I told her, to offer the individual a chance to publicly speak
regarding the issue, with me, or by himself regarding Felton,
to try getting specifically to what has got him so much, by
himself, upset about allowing my voice heard defending Jewish
rights within our community. She told me that she would
likely, none the less, have to let me go to appease the sole
complainant, for what if a lawsuit should result? I told her
to consider her options, reminded her that it was only one
single individual who hadn't even heard the show's context, and
that the broadcast in every other way had been going well,
doing good. She told me she was very busy, and said goodbye.
Then a short while later, phoned me back to ask if I would
write a letter, and have it at the station next day before the
complainant arrived for his copy of the broadcast. I said
sure, said it would be a great challenge, and proceeded
immediately to do just that. The next day, I contacted the
station to ask if my arrived letter was forwarded to the
individual, and was informed no, he didn't receive it. It
wasn't the apology the station was looking for, and my show was
now officially terminated. I told her it was very unfair to
me, to not allow him to read my formal response, and that I
couldn't in good conscience, back down from defending my rights
to be heard on this issue, or to allow us, as our public, to
hear the complainant's actual complaint about my, freedom for
all broadcast. She said she would try to get the letter to
him, but that the show was over. Case closed.
Stand up for Jews, and look at where it gets you, Jeeze.
Let us not put aside, the station manager's legitimate
concerns. Who has the money or the time for a frivolous
lawsuit? Why do expensive independent research, when the Bush
Administration can hand us all the free news they want us to
have directly without any costly questions? Saddam wouldn't
let the inspectors in, right? Why risk standing up for someone
else's rights, when doing so, will get the (anti)

May I, on behalf of only myself, ask that you pardon my
failures in judgment, in not allowing what I should have gave:
an immediate re-dress regarding, 'who is the Zionist label?',
or 'What Holocaust are you referring to?', during the broadcast
of January 31st. (bet you we can't get two Christians that
agree on everything.) However, I can offer perhaps a show
centralized on a chance to exercise your personal views, be
they pro or con on where you think we should go from here, or
whatever may have you regarding said interview. Or, if you
would like, you may wish to do only, or else include, a written
work that I promise, will reach as far as the original
broadcast. So, actually, this could be a prime moment to have
a dialog regarding racism, bigotry, and intolerance. I

I was not so surprised that the broadcast interview with Greg
Felton would be considered controversial, (as every show I've
ever done always has), although I wasn't prepared to hear
criticism against the show as being defamatory to a group, or
groups of people. As certainly that was not my intent, but
however was the difficult subject addressed within the
interview. The fundamental teachings of Law, as it pertains to
justice and freedom, along with every legitimized religion, is
that all free people should be thought of as equals to each
other in vigilant protection. And by doing so, one would be
serving G-d's interests. (Even if a G-d doesn't exist - an
Atheist too, could become a proponent by understanding Jihad).
Thereby insuring\realizing that a just intelligent life force
rules our chaotic timeless universe in service ultimately to
ourselves individually. Giving us in the Torah of Moses, ``all
people are created in God's image'' teaching all peoples are
Sacred. And as such, would be so in God's interests to defend
as the innocent. While in eternal pursuit of happiness and
prosperity for all through just means. Under Greg's definition
as being a "Zionist" conspiracy, negates the failure of himself
personally to recognize the public connotation is too vague,
and that Hitler's Nazi Germany, like Bush's America, is

Greg's mistake I believe, centered in his Zionist labeling
through an apparent bigotry expressed, and as such, was too
narrowly defining the larger established history of the
Holocaust, as being the struggle of the human species in
halting, the demonization and then subjugation of the innocent
millions, Jewish or otherwise. Perhaps it was strangely on his
part a testimony to a real struggle we all have when it comes
to identifying ourselves to others. Considering it is the
exact subject matter he wrestles with in his book writing,
regarding our corporate media's perception of ignoring an
innocent people's concern or cries. That said however, for
Greg to blankly criticize Greg's false construct of what is
publicly understood about the Holocaust, is to deny that much
for sorrow and suffering took place against the whole of
Humanity, especially, of those who held the practiced Jewish
faith. To think the nazi regime would have the gas chambers
and the ovens, while the whole of humanity were not strong
enough to communicate the unjustness of it all to the German
people while it was happening. I have read of a recent
documentary that provides film footage of nazi soldiers

German people were living civilized lives, left unaware of the

generally, a failure on his part to recognize the true horror
of what that war wrought. And in light of our desperate
challenges today of defeating the enemies of Humanity as
specific unjust individuals in "hiding", an ignorantly stupid
thing to say. While I, perhaps wasn't thinking along those
conceived lines, where at that time, I had just left the
thought of: the struggles of the Jewish faith, are the same
struggles all young adults go through by naturally establishing
our associative identities. Who are you I truly ask? How many
news channels even allow us as Humanity to know about the
absent reason for the bombing of the Jews of Samara? The Jews
of Fallujah? The torturing of completely innocent People to
death, as in Guantanamo? Or still unaddressed publicly: the
willful lawless criminality implemented by the, therefore
tyrannical Bush Administration in suffering God's Iraq? (See
missing ``Development Fund of Iraq'', or private mercenaries
discipling for Bush as deemed un-accountable to every conceived
``natural'' law? [see the entire Bible for the judgment call
on that one...] or, Bush's declarative, he magically owns
everything in stolen Iraq now, [where did it go?] and I can't
say anything because he signed his John to 13303 some time
back, but as still is left unreported in Your dying world?)

doing an interview with me, along with your own impressions of

I felt compelled to support the Benderman's cause in
any way I could, so I am providing America some
arguments that I would use in a court of law to
defend your freedoms. If America would so desire,

ungodly war actions of George W. Bush dictate are
criminal in the worst degree, being a harbinger of

is my "God" that I love with all I can will. I am
compelled as a living human being to defend America
to the last bush supporter praised if need be. I fight
the enemy of God and Humanity with reason,

Funds through Presidential decree 13303. Which
include the unappropriated, desperately needed,
humanitarian aid provisions still denied innocent
Iraqis, such as potable drinking water and food
stuffs. Democratic principles are DENIED the
Iraqis by the neo-con military forces, such as holding
all individuals equally accountable to a rule of law.
The outlawing of torture, or the outlawing of false
imprisonment has not been professed as the action of
the neo-con "liberating" force. Mercenaries are not
obliged to obey any laws for example. And, "Dr.
Germ", and "Dr. Anthrax" are held solely for the
fact that they know of the scientific hazards of
depleted uranium, and may have warned the
uninformed sacrificing American GI, if not held
illegally against their wills by the enemy.
Commanders such as irrational war criminal
Sattler, forbade all men and boys between 15 to 50
from leaving the city of Fallujah, while refusing to
negotiate with anyone, (because as so was openly
confessed, Sattler had no evidence that Zaqari was
in Fallujah) then leveled the city to kill all it's
inhabitants, estimated at that time near 300,000
people. Using a napalm type WMD, cluster dud

Serving for a military not strong enough collectively
