What about rocks? Just because they are inanimate, does that mean they are
of less value than we are? What about all those poor nutrients that we so
callously excrete from our bodies? Is all that [stuff] of less value than we

Yes, and why do we allow people to make "pets" of rocks? Rocks belong in
the wild, where they can live in the natural way that was intended. Yet
we keep them in our homes, forcing them to mate to produce unnatural
rocks that could not survive in the wild. We rip them from their homes
to imbed in rings and necklaces. We viciously grind them up to use as
roadbeds. We move them, without their permission, from one place to
another, using them for shallow sports like skimming them over water,
when we know they can't swim.

So why haven't the Swiss done anything about it, particularly since they
have large colonies of mountainous rocks within the borders of their
nation?

We are not big on the rocks, our sin is collecting sea shells (not live).
Some we even subject to a clorox rinse. That must be a Cardinal offense

Hmm - I can't see the original article. That may be just as well.
However after my priest blessed a teddy bear at a St. Francis service,
I tried to get a model steam loco blessed, but she wouldn't do it.
Even after I pointed out that it was an iron HORSE, she wouldn't budge
- and she's a brat.
