Ok call me a wimp, but I have tried the Manhatten and the Martini, but .
. . umm, both are a bit strong for me. Any other suggestions?

Try a brandy manhattan. They're a good way to work yourself up to
something stronger. Equal parts brandy and sweet vermouth, garnish with
a cherry. Or mix up one of those trendy "designer" martinis. Johnny
Dollar will vehemently deny that they're actually martinis, but they
taste great, and that's what counts. Mix equal parts creme de cacao and
vodka over ice (or go 2 to 1 if you want it sweeter), garnish with a
cherry. Or try vodka and amaretto.

As well, drinks mixed with soda or juice are always fine. Nothing wrong
with a rum and coke or a Harvey Wallbanger (okay, those are a bit 70s,
but I love 'em), or rye and ginger.

Not a damn thing wrong with girlie drinks! ;)

Bottoms up!

Above all else, think ice. You want to be able to walk around in your
dinner jacket and smoking robe with an ice bucket and tongs,
distributing ice to all you deem worthy. You want to be a monarch of
cold drinks. -Chris Prince
