I remember tuning into a CBC Stereo program which featured great "lounge"
music from the early 1960s, as I was driving through Montreal in November
1996. Is it still on? What was it called?

Any help would be appreciated...

Sounds like "Radio Shangri-la" -- a perfectly brilliant bit of radio
programming if ever there was one. It shows up here and there from time
to time. It was on regularly (but not daily) on the radio network last
summer, during half of Gabereau's usual slot.

Maybe it'll be back this year, before we get afternoon-long re-run sessions?

It was also on Saturday evenings 7-8 p.m. for a while, before Global
Village took over, which has now in turn been replaced by Random
Samplings. I thoroughly enjoyed RSL, and it was the first time I'd ever
heard William Shatner's version of "Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds". The
memory haunts me still. 8^)
