Jet Set Six unveils "Guerilla Showcasing" strategy in Austin, TX March
11-19
South By Southwest is an event held every Spring in Austin, TX to bring
unsigned artists to the attention to major record labels... or at least
it used to be. In our opinion, it is now more like an excuse to allow
record company execs to go out, party & schmooze on the corporation's
expense account, and showcase their acts that they have recently (or
even not that recently) signed. However, just because we weren't invited
to be a part of the event, you should never think it's going to keep us
from going out there and playing our hearts out! As our ever so wise
manager-chicky-baby-dollface Todi explained, "We may not have a date,
but we're going to the prom anyway!" Indeed, we will be making our mark,
playing 8 shows in 9 days (we've already played one...) in and around
the festival. We are working more than any band actually involved
officially with SXSW... ok... so we're nuts. What else is new? Anyway,
we're doing underground showcases, private showings to bookers, instore
concerts, an obnoxiously early morning radio show, and we even have a
gig right on the strip (6th St) smack dab in the middle of the festival.
(And unlike SXSW showcases, that gig actually PAYS! *chuckle*) We're
going down there on a mission and will be heard. We plan on being the
band that makes history at SXSW without even being asked to come. Be
sure to check below for all the dates and locations. If you'll be within
mozeyin' distance, come watch a little history in in the making!!

Ahh, the road. I am typing these completely unnecessary words in a room
infested with candy wrappers, horn mutes, cola cans, and foodstuffs that
contain one or more of the following: Corn, Sunflower, or Partially
Hydrogenated Soybean Oil. Ahhh, soybean oil. Can't get enough of it,
ya know? Um... yeah. Hell. I'm supposed to be telling you something...
oh yes. Looking a little bit more into the future I foresee another
trip to Florida and an extended stay in Branson, MO. We'll be doing some
more shows in NYC at Windows on the World and another "swingin' go-go
dance party" at Don Hill's in early April. Also, some fans in the
Tampa, FL area started an online Jet Set Six club at Yahoo! Check it
out and join in at http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/jetsetsix We'll stop by
every once and a while to roughen up the joint a bit... Oh, and you
missed John's birthday, It was March 8th. Don't worry, we all did. He
went to Miami, the lucky guy! Anyway, if you want to send him some
