Greetings all you secret agent men and leopard tight gals!
While I was perusing the Sunday paper I came upon a collection for sale
entitled "Viva Las Vegas". No - it's not the soundtrack to the Elvis musical,
it's a two CD set dedicated to the City of Cities, the Mecca for Loungers
everywhere, Las Vegas. Here's a complete track listing:
Wayne Newton - Viva Las Vegas Bobby Darin - Mack the Knife
Tony Bennett - The Lady is a Tramp Dean Martin - That's Amore
Nat King Cole - Ramblin' Rose Sergio Franchi - Volare
Sammy Davis Jr - The Candy Man Anthony Newley - What Kind of Fool Am I?
Andy Williams - Moon River Bobby Vinton - My Melody Of Love
Roger Miller - King of The Road Peggy Lee - Fever
Louis Prima and Keely Smith - That Old Black Magic
Louis Armstrong - Hello Dolly Jimmy Durante - Inka Dinka Doo
Desi Arnaz - Baba Lu Charo - Cuchi Cuchi Doc Severinsen - The Tonight
Show Theme Wayne Newton - Danke Schoen Tom Jones - Its Not Unusual
Engelbert Humperdink - Release Me Petula Clark - Downtown
Sonny and Cher - I got You Babe Ike and Tina Turner - Proud Mary
Tony Orlando and Dawn - Knock Three Times
The Lettermen - Going Out of My Head/Can't Take My Eyes off Of You
Diana Ross - Theme from Mahogany Captain and Tenille - Do that To me One
More Time Frankie Valli - Swearin' To God CHer - Take Me Home
Donna Summer - MacArthur Park Patti Lupone - Don't Cry for Me Argentina
Jack Jones - The Love Boat theme Paul Anka - My Way.

Phew. Aye carumba. It's mind boggling, isn't it? If you want to pick it up,
it's $24.99 for the 2 cd set. Call 1-800-878-1756. I also saw a Henry
Mancini two CD set in another issue of Parade magazine, but accidently threw
it away. I'm sure if you asked the rep for it they'd know about it.

On the CD player today: the Easy Project - 20 Loungecore Favorites. I bought
it just for the amazing cut number one 'The Shake" by the Laurie Johnson
Orchestra. I'll be puttin' that one on my answering maching for sure.

A Note for Lounge-a-holics in the Tampa Bay Area. The Masquerade in Ybor City
now has Swing on Friday and Saturday night, with the Ultra Lounge Experience
in the Solarium Room on Friday nights. TikiBarMan says get out the HaiKarate
and the dancing shoes and get to it!

I'm still looking for a good cheap reliable source for Lounge CDs, most notably
the Ultra Lounge series. Newbury Comics still offers them at 11.99, but as
you know, that's not low enough for me! :>

See ya later alligators.
