This new venue will truly be a one-of-a-kind experience for lovers of Swing
Culture, Dance, and Music alike. Come sample the Art-Deco atmosphere of
this newly built Mega-Lounge, which is part of the newly renovated Skylite
Hotel.
10-50 Swing Street will be accomodating the best of both swingers' worlds:
Loungers and Dancers...in two adjoining rooms!!!
For the Loungers, in the Ten Spot Lounge, the only swing lounge in NYC
where a ten spot buys mixed drinks for a couple, we bring you a truly
inspired atmosphere featuring a 25 foot classic marble bar, with extremely
reasonable drinks ($4 beer, $5 mixed drinks, $6 top shelf), as well as an
intimate lounge, and a fullscreen projector featuring retro movies, music,
and dance videos.
For the Dancers, in the Fiftynights Room, named for Mr.Michael Ingbar, we
offer a spacious, brand new hard oakwood dancefloor, much in the tradition
of the now legendary Louisiana Bar and Grill, complete with food sevrice
behind the velvet rope, all night long 'till 4 am!!!
We'd like to remind you all that this will be a regular Friday happenning,
and we can possibly expand it to even more if we get a strong showing. We
urge you to support this event and others that we, the bands, present. We
will strive to keep cutting through the red tape to give you more of
exactly what we know you want, without costly middlemen.
Your host will be that most Deco of dudes, Tommy Whitetie, known for
representing the spirit of warmth and good natured hospitality that Swing
Culture is all about. Tommy will be making sure that everyone is having a
good time!
Also in the works are a deejay and swing lessons. We will try to post more
news on this as it develops.
