why the hell is it that there are millions of sleazy little dive bars that
refer to themselves as lounges but are NOT swanky and NOT loungy and NOT
anything that has to do with ANYTHING that isnt nasty and scummy and dirty and
cheap?!

grrrrr*.
i wish theyd just refer to themselves as greasy little holes in the wall which
is just what they are and not lounges, which they most deffinently are not.

poo.

True...the word "lounge" has been used and abused these days. Just
remember that there are people out their that just don't get
it...cocktail culture that is. I believe Websters defines lounge (in
this context anyway) as a venue for "live" entertainment.

Because sleazy little dive bars have always called themselves lounges -
they're places where one can drink alcohol, obviously - no more or no less.
They've been called lounges since way before any trendy hipsters jumped on
the cocktail bandwagon and they'll be called lounges after every lounge
music cd compilation is out of print and in the 99 cent cutout bin of your
local used record store.

but you would never want to "lounge" around in an icky-poo little hole in the
wall would you? ::sigh:: i wouldnt ... so even if they were called lounges
before lounges were called lounges... ::grin:: am i confusing anyone yet?
::giggle:: then... how come they were called that in the first place?...

oh wait... i forgot... thats half the english language isnt it?... calling
things by other things names... forget i asked.
