AT&T screwed up with the October bill on International Calls (basically
calls to India). Upon reporting the mistake the customer service agent
asked us to deduct around $95 from the total. But it was not to end
there. When I calculated what the deduction should be, there was still a
difference of about $7 from the suggested deduction. A second attempt to
get the bill corrected also resulted in a difference of still a $2.

Why this unnecessary screw-up by AT&T ? Can't they get things right in
one shot ? I was a staunch believer in AT&T's service until this
incident. Even they are not to be taken for granted. Beware !!!

The same thing happened with my bill too.
Upon my report, they called me to notify the amount
I should decuct from the bill before payment.

They also said the special promotional plan to India is not
valid in the operational zone of United Telephone Systems (our local
telephone company, which is a sprint company).
They shuld have informed me about this right when they
talked me into taking AT&T.

AT&T sucks!

I also faced the same problem and the irony is that the mistake has been
repeated on my bill the second time.I am seriously thinking of
changing my Phone Company.

I have had essentially the same problem in that the rpoposed Reach out
world rates (92c/min) were not given. Initially the local company
stated that they would give me these rates by manually adjusting my
bill. They will not do so anymore. I spoke to a Ms Fralix in the
International dept. and she said some part of the decision was based
upon how many customers in a particular area called India. So much
for AT&T. I will be reaching out and touching some other company
pretty soon......any suggestions other than MCI?

Same problem here. I was billed at approximately $2.70 for a
50 minute call to India (yikes!). The matter was resolved after
calling AT&T. They gave me a credit for the difference.

This isn't right. They promised you the rate and they have to give
you the 92c rate regardless of how many people from an area call India.

What a coincidence !! This time MCI played havoc with our
tel. bill and had charged 50 bucks more!! Of course, we got $100
back from them as a penalty !! (serige savva-seru)

AT&T is not alone in this sort of thing. About 4 months ago, MCI had
similar "billing errors"; the amount was over $104 in my case; it
took almost an hour with the MCI rep to straighten things out... And,
I am no longer with MCI.

So, who is it going to be next ?

Looks like this company does not operate in Midwestern states.

When I called up AT&T and told them that they were receiving a lot of
flak they were not bothered. The lady I spoke to said , " let people
change if they want it really doesn't bother us."

Pretty absurd coming from an organization of such magnitude and reputation.

I too had a similiar experience with the AT&T bill.
They screwed up the calls ot India and over charged me
way too much.

Later they discovered the reason was that I was not enlisted
in reachout plan. While I had requested the service when my
pohone was installed.

I also sufferred the same fate. On calling the customer service they said it will
take 2 billing cycle. This mistake they are doing for last two months so I
reuest people to always counter check the ATT's bills. Of course when you
say why do you do it so often they tell you to contact their supervisors
and they never return your call.

In my opinion A general QUIT AT&T SHOULD BE LAUNCHED ON ONE SPECIFIC DAY
IN FUTURE TO MAKE OUR POINT CLEAR.
