ABC News of Australia reported that Hong Kong's celebrity crocodile,
nicknamed "Gucci", is now easing into life in captivity, taking
sunbath but still refusing to eat a day after she was on the run for 8
months.

Gucci, a female salt-water crocodile which wins the nickname by
designer-label obsessed Hong Kongers, first appeared on November 2,
2003 mysteriously in a polluted river in New Territories. She then
became a celebrity, even won as many votes as Hong Kong Chief
Executive Tung Chee-hwa 6 times.

Hong Kong government has spent $HK 300,000 to solicit the best efforts
of repitle experts, including Chinese ones and Australian John Lever
on whom the Hollywood movie "Crocodile Dundee" was based, without
success. Eventually Gucci was snared by a net designed by Ng Lo-tau
which costs just $HK 90.
